A marked improvement on good to soft ground at Newmarket last time gives Balady a strong chance as she bids to shed her maiden tag but at the prices, it might be worth siding with ALEUT. The Iceman filly can take plenty of positives from her debut second to the highly regarded Albaspina at Carlisle and she is taken to relish similarly testing conditions at the Merseyside side track. Leicester third Corsetry makes most appeal of the remainder.
A very intriguing maiden, but it may just be that the newcomers, headed by Great Heavens and Oojooba, will struggle to overcome more experienced rivals. Corsetry has to be considered but preference is for Miss Cap Estel who is certain to benefit from the step up to 1m. Balady is another worthy of respect in what looks a warm race.

Many unexposed fillies to be wary of in the build up to this handicap contest but the experienced KENYAN CAT gets the nod. The Ed McMahon yard appears to be running into form and a return to soft ground is likely to play into her hands. The four-year-old daughter of One Cool Cat remains off what looks an attractive mark of 80 and with Neil Farley taking off 5lb in the saddle, she looks to have plenty going for her. Jaaryah is dropped down in class and is another with claims, while Fashionable Gal can't be ignored.
Making Eyes was not discredited when her losing run came to an end at Goodwood last time and with a lot of her rivals having question marks over them, she looks the most solid option. Qaraaba and Antigua Sunrise can chase her home.

TAGULA NIGHT appears to thrive on soft ground and the booking of Kieren Fallon suggests another big performance is expected. The Walter Swinburn charge takes a slight step up in class but a 3lb rise in the ratings doesn't seem harsh and back-to-back victories appears the most likely outcome. Misplaced Fortune is another to keep an eye on while Noverre To Go makes his first start for trainer Ron Harris and remains of interest.
Esprit de Midas recent efforts suggest he is back to his best and with the ground on the soft side, he looks a reliable option. Layla's Hero is another who will relish the cut in the ground, while Misplaced Fortune can continue her revival.

STRIDENT FORCE is likely to be a popular selection among on course punters and the son of Refuse To Bend has done little wrong thus far. The colt made a pleasing enough start before displaying marked improvement at Brighton on his most recent outing and with experience under his belt, this looks to be his chance to get off the mark. Shantaram was desperately unlucky not to score at Sandown earlier this month and rates a serious player, while of the others, Mojave is of interest.
Plenty of interesting newcomers in this but they'll do well to overhaul the above-average Shantaram and Strident Force first time up. Curzon Line appears to be the Godolphin first string and may fare best of the others.

Skilful made a pleasing start in handicap company at Thirsk despite disappointing favourite backers and a 3lb rise in the ratings doesn't seem too harsh on paper. ALAKHAN (was also engaged to run at Haydock on Friday) makes most appeal however despite a 6lb hike in the weights. The five-year-old scored impressively at Chester earlier this month following a 522-day absence and Ian Williams' charge might have more to offer still. Master Of Arts is another to take seriously following his recent return to form at Newbury.
A competitive affair in which the vote goes to Skilful, who with just the 3 runs under his belt looks capable of further progress. Alakhan and Master of Arts are also of interest, though the former didn't run very well here on Friday.
