Verdict

Global View gelding VISTA NOVA was given a patient ride to show him what it's about and he produced a nice finish to take the second cheque. He can make any amount of improvement but has a wide draw to overcome in a sprint - not easy. Filly IRISH BELLE has stuck to her task stubbornly, finishing second in her last two. She can go one better if everything goes her way. MY LORD AND MASTER did well off a wide draw last time and needs to be watched back on turf. He has room for improvement. GIMME A RAINBOW finished runner-up in his last three in the Eastern Cape - respect him.

Verdict

KING CYRUS is finally trying a longer trip. He has decent sprint form and from a decent barrier could get the run of the race. Must go close. But ARCTIC TUNE was eye-catching on debut at this venue. He can only improve - he is by Noble Tune and should relish going this distance and further. QUEPID is improving with each start but takes on males in her Greyville debut. She could just need it after a rest but is certainly one to keep an eye on. MONTANA SKY would be deserving after finishing runner-up in his last two but has drawn wide again.

Verdict

RAISEAHALLELUJAH could be better on the turf track. His poly runs aren't bad but he seems to hesitate on that surface and perhaps the grass will see the required improvement. He is going further today and only the race will show how much he prefers it. FIREONTHETRACK has run on well on both poly and turf which is a good sign. He could prefer a longer straight but regardless, is coming along the right way and just needs to time it right. GREEN PHANTOM also takes a while to get going and he may relish the distance. ROCK WITH ME and DOUBLE GEMINI have definite claims as well.

Verdict

THE BAYOU would be deserving, especially off his lowered merit rating. He has the best of the draws and this looks to be the ideal distance for him. However, he has not won for almost two years and has not had an ideal prep. NEWS STREAM could much enjoy this less frantic longer trip after a thrilling start-to-finish win against stronger. He looks to have more to come. Watch out for JACK OF HEARTS who was not disgraced in a feature and now has a 4kg claim. DIVINE HUGH is going up in class but loves this track and can make the grade with a light weight.

Verdict

JACK IN THE BOX was well fancied in his first try on turf and was beaten a neck. He has been brought along steadily and could be ready to win. The longer trip should suit. DO RE MI has run three decent races in a row but has drawn wide again. Still, he is getting better and could get the race run to suit. PROSPERO runs like he could be a stayer in the making. Worth watching. TIGER TANK gave the favourite a hard time after a rest and could improve further, but has drawn very wide. GREY LINNGARI and SAN VERDE must be considered as well.

Verdict

HEREINAFTER and CHANTY LANE, both improving youngsters, battled it out in a feature last time and have the best of the draws. The former could have the edge again, even if in need of further but overall the pair should make successful handicap debuts. MORE THAN A DIME is back on her best surface and will be at a peak in her third start after a rest, and should get into the fray. IN JEST loves this track but has not been lucky with her barrier. She needs to overcome the widest berth. More can get into the money.

Verdict

Nice race. GURU'S PRIDE broke the 1600 metre record on the poly last time and this is likely to be very fast so could mow them down again even if it is a sharp 1000 metre event. Best weighted SUNSET EYES has his task made easier with a 2,5kg apprentice claim but would have preferred the poly to the turf. Still a big say. GOOD RHYTHM impressed with his apprentice in a strong race last time and could do so again with the same big claim. WAYWOOD is knocking hard for another win but like so many, has to make the switch from poly to turf.
