TURBEYVILLE has impressively notched up a hat-trick recently and he is fancied to strike again whilst the iron is hot. Patron Saint is also chasing four wins in a row and rates the biggest threat, ahead of the dropped-in-class Marsh Dawg.
There didn't appear to be any fluke about BRIER's first career success over 5 1/2f here last time and, with that confidence booster under her belt, she might be able to complete the double. Rock Away Rozee and Group Therapy are also expected to go well.
EMPEROR'S RING has struck the crossbar in both visits to the racetrack thus far and, taking a significant drop in class tonight, he might be able to make it third-time lucky. Lake Effect has also been knocking on the door and warrants respect, as does the Eskei Beech-trained Wild Hardships.
OPEN THROTTLE produced an impressive turn of foot to readily open his account in a similar track and trip prize last time and he will take some stopping if arriving in the same mood. My Hometown Boy and Don's Legend could be left to fight out minor honours.
A number of these look to have chances, so STRAIGHT THUNDER receives what can only be a tentative vote. He ran second in a similar track and trip event last time and a repeat performance should see him in the firing line again. Our Brave Warrior was just over a length behind the selection latest so he has to be respected, while Rico Capote and Swinging At Siro's are just a couple more with claims.
THISLADYCANFLY caught the eye staying on for second on her return to action over 5f here earlier in the month and with this step up in trip almost certain to help, she gets the vote to go one better. Call Me Sis and Roaring Belle also merit consideration.
HELLCAT has won her last couple of starts by an aggregate total of 12 lengths and she might be able to take this class rise in her stride. There are plenty in the way of dangers, however, with other last-time-out winners Lexi On The Cover and Swift Taylor topping the list.
SINCITYEDDIE gamely regained the winning thread over track and trip last time and the stage looks set for him to claim a third career victory this evening. Carson City Cash and Danny's Hope are other respected players.
