EL TOREROS appeared to lack the speed necessary for a sharper trip at Sedgefield recently, but did land a hurdle race over 2m3f at Newton Abbot, so this extra yardage could make the difference. That victory over timber came at the expense of Nether Stream but that rival showed promise over fences at Southwell and has to enter calculations. Table Bluff showed ability on his first chase outing and the excellent Nico de Boinville takes a handy 3lb off his back.

Top Tip: El Toreros (1)
Watch out for: Nether Stream (2)

Table Bluff might well have been flattered by his proximity to the first 2 when third of 4 on his chase bow here last time, but it was a promising introduction to fences all the same and he should go well back in a handicap. Nether Stream and El Toreros are others to consider.

THE YOUNG MASTER was successfully campaigned over hurdles and the Flat earlier in the year, notching up a cross-code four-timer, and he looks the one to side with on his chasing bow. Merchant Of Milan hasn't been seen since he was pulled up when favourite at Plumpton in May but he did show promise prior to that and deserves a check in the betting. Almost Gemini is stepped up in trip after he was well beaten over timber but could have more to offer over fences.

NEAREST THE PIN has been plying his trade in more competitive races in Ireland so his recent form is forgiven with the booking of the champion jockey a major boost for his chances. Dealing River is an obvious danger after a comfortable five-length success over C&D and a 7lb penalty may not be enough to hinder his chances in this tougher race. Sublime Talent rarely runs a bad race and can build on a narrow second at Newton Abbot while Surf And Turf is another consistent sort who cannot be dismissed.

Whatthebutlersaw looks to be improving with experience and has an obvious chance if building on his last-time-out victory at Stratford, while there is also likely better to come from Tobefair now he has the benefit of the experience gained on his Uttoxeter debut behind him.

Paolozzi created a really good impression when winning easily over C&D a month ago and a penalty is unlikely to stop him if turning up here in similar form. Formerly trained by Johnny Murtagh when plying his trade on the level and rated as high as 90 in that sphere, the son of Teofilo is expected to have too much class for this bunch. Ashcott Boy heads the list of dangers and was an emphatic winner over C&D latest, while Tiradia makes up the shortlist.
