A tricky opener but one who makes plenty of appeal is MACROY. He was very disappointing at Nottingham last time but had previously shown enough in handicaps to suggest that he could take a hand here off a mark of 60. Arriva La Diva carries a 6lb penalty for her 5f Ayr success but she should still be capable of making her presence felt. Kyzer Chief, Fromsong and Bertie Southstreet also merit consideration.
Plenty can be given a chance here, but Arriva La Diva won readily at Ayr last week and can follow up under a penalty. Bertie Southstreet and Fromsong can chase her home.

Richard Fahey has had an excellent season with his juveniles and it could pay to side with his newcomer PANDORO DE LAGO, who is a half-sister to a Group 3 winner and his sure to know her job. Istishaara shaped encouragingly on her debut at Newmarket and with plenty of improvement likely, it would be no surprise to see her give a good account. Ed Dunlop had a juvenile winner at Newmarket last week and any confidence behind his newcomer Dubawi Gulf would make her of interest.
Istishaara is best of those with experience and has to be respected in view of her promising start. However, Sir Mark Prescott can do little wrong with his juveniles this term and the well-bred debutante Clinical could be the one here. Pandoro de Lago and Snow Cannon are others that catch the eye on paper.

Forjatt overcame his inexperience to make a winning debut over 5f at Nottingham last month and he is sure to have benefited greatly for that experience, so he should go well. WOOTTON BASSETT won well at Ayr on his racecourse debut and he is also likely to improve. He edges the verdict and although Nasharra disappointed in the Listed National Stakes at Sandown, it would be no surprise to see him pose a big danger as well.
A competitive renewal and it may pay to stick with the unbeaten pair Wootton Bassett and Forjatt, with a narrow preference for the former. Nasharra still looked green when contesting a listed event last time and could fare best of the rest.

Cesare, a Group 2 winner in his prime and runner-up in the Queen Anne just over a year ago, has the highest official rating in the line-up and will take all the beating if anywhere near his best, but he lacks the benefit of a recent run and that could tilt the balance in favour of YAMAL. He had to settle for second best behind Hacienda at Hamilton last month but even a reproduction of that effort would give him a big chance here. His stablemate Vesuve can also figure.
It is probably too early to start writing off Cesare, but he showed definite signs of being in decline last year and is far from certain to get the strong pace he requires on his belated return. With that in mind it may pay to stick with the Godolphin pair Yamal and Vesuve.

That'll Do Nicely is on a hat-trick but a 7lb rise for his latest success over 1m2f at Newcastle will make life tougher, especially if PUTRA ONE can return to the form he showed when dead-heating at Windsor on his penultimate outing. Michael Jarvis's representative was not at his best at Haydock subsequently but if he is forgiven that run, he has leading claims. Norwegian Dancer is another to consider in an open contest.
That'll Do Nicely underlined his rapid improvement when scooting home under a penalty at Newcastle last time and should make a bold bid to defy his new mark. Norwegian Dancer looks sure to give it his usual honest shot, whilst Putra One could easily bounce back from his latest disappointing effort.

MOTIRANI did not show a great deal in his three runs in maidens over a mile but he can be expected to fare much better now stepping up to this trip on his handicap debut. Rock The Stars has been in fine form of late but his rating has risen steeply as a result. Akhmatova won a Windsor maiden over a mile last month and is highly respected on her first foray into handicap company.
Quite a few of these have potential, including The Caped Crusader, who produced a much more polished performance when starting out for Ollie Pears at Haydock last month and gets the nod over recent Windsor winner Akhmatova. Venture Girl remains unexposed at this trip and can reward placepotters.
