Richard Fahey's filly INTRUSION built upon her debut fourth when she finished third over this trip at Catterick recently. She is getting the hang of things now and, with the likelihood of further improvement, she could land this. Captain Loui finished second at Southwell last month and could improve for the application of cheekpieces so he is worthy of consideration. Satin Love and Soldiers Point both make their first starts this afternoon and are both worth monitoring in the market.
Mark Johnston's 2-y-os have generally struggled this term but this looks a prime opportunity for the expensive and well-bred Satin Love to make a winning debut at a track where the trainer does so well. Intrusion has improvement in her, and is the pick of those with experience.

Linda Perratt's DISTANT SUN gets a tentative verdict here following his success over this C&D at the end of June. He seems to like it here and should give his running. Lesley's Choice finished runner-up to Haajes over this C&D on Saturday and that entitled him to respect. He was successful on the all-weather over last winter and looks to be heading back to top. The Bear scored comfortably at Ayr on Monday and is an obvious contender.
The Bear will prove hard to beat if in the same form as when romping home at Ayr earlier in the week. Bonnie Prince Blue and the in-form Lesley's Choice look 2 of the likeliest to take advantage should Amanda Perratt's charge not give his running turned out so quickly.

Kevin Ryan's TRIBAL MYTH is a consistent sort who appears to have improved since stepping up to a mile and he can take a hand in the outcome today. Queen's Scholar represents the in form Mark Johnston's yard and she deserves plenty of respect on the form of her Musselburgh third last month, especially as she is open to further improvement. High Resolution is most consistent and should not be far away.
Tribal Myth has been consistent since moving into handicaps and can gain another success. Queen's Scholar and High Resolution could provide the stiffest resistance.

Corky Dancer finished second in a Perth bumper over 2m1f at the start of the month and is one to keep a close eye on now making his flat debut. Preference, however, is for ASHBRITTLE who was narrowly denied on his seasonal bow at Salisbury back in May. He returns from a short break and, if he progresses further, he could prove tough to beat. Dynamic Idol and Forsyth both merit consideration while Richard Fahey's Opening Nite should come on for his debut effort.
Ashbrittle sets a decent standard and he can get off the mark at the third attempt. Forsyth and Dynamic Idol look best of the rest.

Monte Mayor One put in a good effort under penalty over this C&D on Saturday and a repeat performance this afternoon would give her a big chance. She scored at Ayr on her penultimate start and connections are looking to supplement that success before the handicapper has his say. Slight preference, however, is for SKYFIRE who was touched off at Catterick over 7f last week. He's heading in the right direction though and the step back in trip should benefit. Tadalavil has each-way claims.
Geojimali is operating off a lowly mark these days and he shaped with much more encouragement when third at Newcastle last time. He can prove too strong for Skyfire and Monte Mayor One on this occasion.

BOTHAM shaped nicely when second over this C&D on Saturday and has a chance to go one better this afternoon. He has finished second on his last two starts, both over this course and distance, and looks sure to make his presence felt once more. Revue Princess is in good heart and should be on the premises. Almaty Express won over this C&D on his penultimate outing and is not out of this if returning to that form.
Botham didn't have everything go his way last time but he remains capable of better and can follow up his success in this race in 2009. Revue Princess and Lake Chini are both possible dangers.
