Go Fo Mo and Young Queen were second and third in a slightly tougher contest over an extended mile here last time. They should go close again but it's worth taking a chance on WALKINGAROUNDLUCKY, second in a similar 6f contest on her debut here. She should have improved for the run and, over this longer trip, might be able to open her account.
Carycita is on a C&D hat trick after two successes in this grade but she's unlikely to have things her own way tonight. Hill Brae returned to form with an impressive victory over an extended mile in a similar race here, but preference is for DREAMABULL, who has been running in much tougher company and finished a good second over 6f latest. If her stamina holds out, she could prove far too good.
If she's anywhere near fit after a long lay-off, ARAVILLI should walk this. A cosy winner of a $31k allowance race on her penultimate start, she was sixth in a $60k race at Hollywood Park when last seen 11 months ago - form which is easily good enough to land this event. La Nina Fria and Lo's Gal, second and third in a similar contest to this, look best of the rest.
Bushy's Yield and Bowdrill were third and fourth in a similar contest last time but the latter is much less exposed and might be able to improve enough to reverse the placings. Devil's Zone was just pipped in a weaker C&D race last time but is open to plenty of improvement after just three starts. However, MAX AHEAD is another progressive sort and his head second in a similar contest over five and a half furlongs here last time suggests he could be good enough to land the spoils.
Make The Bend takes a big drop in class but has rarely threatened this year after missing the previous campaign and is best watched for now. He's A Mystery has a fine strike-rate but seems out of sorts at present, so it's worth taking a chance on YANKEE PAL, twice a winner in late spring and second in a stakes race three starts ago.
Great Peace looks a progressive sort but is stepping up in class today, while Amandare drops in grade but was well beaten last time out. This looks an ideal opportunity for JOHNNY WONDER, placed in all four starts to date, to go one better than his last three efforts and open his account.
Irish Valor and Sweet Baby Doll were second and third in a similar contest last time out and should be thereabouts again. However, it's worth giving BELIEVE I'M GREAT another chance. She was also second in this grade last time but, in a tough race, did well to battle her way through. Given a clear run, she might be good enough to see off these rivals.
Consider It Bound is better than her latest run suggests and Jeju Joe returned to form when filling the runner-up berth last time out, but it's WARRIOR'S METTLE who gets the vote. He has a good record at this venue and arrives in fine form after a good third when bidding for a double latest.
GRAND BANKS is hard to oppose here following a highly impressive four-length success from Just Lyke Me (Af Sirpass 6th) over a slightly shorter trip last time out and it's hard to see that form being reversed tonight. Bonnett looks the best of the remainder.
