FERDIA put in a solid effort when third to the odds-on Top Bandit in a similar event at Punchestown and now comes here after running right up his mark in a highly competitive 26-runner handicap at the Leopardstown Christmas Festival. The six-year-old only gave best on the run-in when third to The Greek and can gain a third career win. All Those Years looked a promising sort when landing the odds on his debut in a Galway Festival bumper and then beat all bar Jeremys Flame in a Listowel maiden hurdle. Charles Byrnes' charge was absent for over a year until returning in a Fairyhouse maiden in November and should benefit from that run. De Lady In Red is unproven on testing ground, while Young Fitzy won well over fences at Tramore last weekend but appears held on hurdle form.

ADAMANTLY CHOSEN looks the one they all have to beat. The Willie Mullins-trained gelding won the valuable Goffs Land Rover Bumper at the Punchestown Festival and beat all bar Gringo D'aubrelle when switched to hurdles at Fairyhouse just over a month ago. Hopefully his jumping will sharpen up a bit with that experience under his belt and the winner franked the form when third in the Challow. Gordon Elliott saddles two of the chief dangers. Enki Flacke won a Perth bumper last summer and has shown promise in two subsequent hurdle outings, including when staying on into third behind better-fancied stablemate Au Fleuron at Navan, while Ebasari held a Flat rating in the 70s for Michael Halford last year.

MAHLER ALLSTAR kept top-class company in three outings under Rules for Jonathan Sweeney. The lightly-raced eight-year-old was third to Appreciate It before finishing in mid-division behind Ferny Hollow in the Champion Bumper, and was putting in his best work at the finish when third to Stattler in a hot 2m4f maiden hurdle at the 2020 Leopardstown Christmas meeting. It's obviously a worry that he's not been seen since but this stamina test should suit. Shantreusse won a Clonmel bumper on soft ground for Sam Curling last spring and the form of his hurdling debut second to Mr Fred Rogers in a 2m5f Punchestown maiden has generally worked out well since. Fantasio D'alene has an obvious chance on his second to Vanillier in a 2m3f Naas maiden over a year ago but has failed to land the odds on both outings since, including when falling at Navan last month.

This looks a nice race for EXCITING OSCAR who has a mark of 101 over fences. He ran a decent race on his return to action when sixth at Limerick in handicap company and is entitled to step forward a bit from that outing. This is only his third outing over fences, though he has point-to-point experience, and there looks to be more to come in this sphere. Ben Thomson was a game winner in a tight finish to a handicap hurdle at Down Royal over the Christmas period. He went up to a mark of 101 over timber after that success so just squeezes in nicely under these conditions on his chase debut. Fou Diligence ran well to finish third in a handicap chase at Naas last month and doesn't have a lot to find to make a big impression in this company.

SIL VER KLASS looks capable of scoring over fences off this mark. He has run well on his two outings over timber this season, finishing second at Navan and Fairyhouse. The French-bred gelding was an eye-catcher when last seen over fences at Clonmel last March, staying on to finish fourth in a beginners contest. He has a nice racing weight in this now. R'evelyn Pleasure ran a decent race when fourth at Leopardstown last time and a similar show here could see him get involved. The French-bred mare chased home easy winner Eabha Grace at Tramore last time having been a solid third at Wexford previously. This looks like a nice opportunity to gain a deserved success. Dual point-to-point winner Croi Corcra is an interesting rival and could prove the danger. The Soldier Of Fortune filly won a winners of two contest at Damma House in November and is obviously talented. Fons Vivus is another point-to-point winner that has to be respected and the market may prove the best guide to her chances.
