Bladoun showed plenty of promise in bumpers last season and he is accorded the utmost respect making his hurdling debut. However, slight preference is for ROGER BEANTOWN. He had to settle for second best behind The New One on his hurdles bow at Newton Abbot last month but he is entitled to strip fitter today and a bold bid looks assured. Orabora is also respected on his hurdling debut.

Top Tip: Roger Beantown (7)
Watch out for: Bladoun (1)

Roger Beantown and Bladoun were similarly matched in terms of bumper form, but the former has the edge in experience over hurdles having chased home The New One last month and is fancied to put it to good use. Orabora may prove best of the rest.

Sin Bin managed two wins from three starts in bumpers and he can be expected to play a leading role on his hurdling debut here. Tolkiens Tango and Cheat The Cheater are also considered but the verdict goes the way of SHOTGUN PADDY. An impressive winner of a Thurles bumper back in February, he has since joined Emma Lavelle and can make his presence felt now sent over hurdles for the first time.

SKI SUNDAY, a runner-up in a Grade 1 hurdle at Aintree back in 2009, did not manage to get his head in front last season but has dropped to an attractive mark as a consequence and he can go well here if at the top of his game after his lay-off. Pocket Too had a spin on the flat last month which should have put him spot on for his return to hurdling here and he is respected. Kellystown Lad is also worthy of consideration on his first start for Tom George.

Captain Paulie is an interesting contender on his first run for Evan Williams but preference is for SOPHONIE. She did not get home over 2m4f at Exeter on her first run for Tom George but the drop to 2m will suit and she looks sure to mount a bold bid today. Amuse Me has been somewhat disappointing since recording three wins in May and he might be best watched for the time being. Recent Plumpton second Anay Turge is not ruled out.

HAZY DAWN did not progress as expected for Michael Scudamore after making a winning debut over hurdles but she would not be the first horse to benefit for a switch to Richard Woolacott's yard and any confidence behind her would certainly be worth heeding. Illysantachristina is nicely handicapped on her best form and she is respected despite some lacklustre recent efforts. Old Magic and Todareistodo are others with claims in a tricky contest.

David Pipe's charge scored over this C&D last month and an 8lb rise is unlikely to prevent another big run from him. For The Staff is certainly well handicapped on the pick of his Irish hurdles form and it would be folly to leave him out of calculations.
