Sunarri comes into this in good heart and will be expected to give another good account but the one to beat could be LIVELY BARON. He showed a very good attitude when justifying favouritism over 2m4f at Haydock in November and, with further improvement possible, he can land this. Storm Brig is on an upward curve and it would be foolish to underestimate him while Lucinda Russell's Cheltenham bumper winner Tanzanite Bay is highly respected on her hurdling debut.
Useful bumper winners Storm Brig and Lively Baron both made promising winning starts over hurdles in November and look the pair to concentrate on, the former earning a narrow vote. Sunarri has done little wrong in handicaps for his new yard and looks a value each-way alternative.

RUPERT LAMB had to settle for runner-up behind Palace Jester at Wetherby last time but there could be plenty more to come from him and he can gain his first hurdles success today. Lady Bluesky, a multiple winner on the flat, was turned over at long odds-on at Kelso last time but she should be on the premises here while Fortuni is rated in the 90's on the level and is an interesting contender on his first attempt over obstacles.
Rupert Lamb shaped like a sure-fire future winner over hurdles when runner-up at Wetherby in November and will take some stopping if running to a similar level here. Lady Bluesky excelled herself on the Flat last year and could prove troublesome if benefiting from her initial hurdling experience, whilst Fortuni is another to consider if the market vibes are positive.

Cool Mission boasts a fine record over timber and must be given every chance on his debut over fences while The Knoxs fell at the fifth at Newcastle first time over fences but is another talented hurdler and could be worth another chance. This should go, however, to ELZAHANN, four times a winner over timber and a close second over 3m at Musselburgh on her chasing debut. This drop in trip looks in her favour and she has very little to find now to land this.
Cool Mission possesses all the right qualities to make a name for himself over fences and is taken to make a winning start to his chasing career. Elzahann will be a lot more streetwise after her initial stab at chasing last time and looks the chief threat.

Catch Bob shaped nicely at Sedgefield last time but he has been raised 8lb for finishing runner-up and that makes life tougher now. Sibenek has been raised 4lb for his 2m4f Carlisle success but that might not prevent another big run from him. Premier Sagas is respected but it might be worth taking a chance on SAGALYRIQUE. He eventually pulled up over 3m1f at Bangor last time but was in contention for a long way and, with the drop to this trip no problem, he can fare much better this time around.

In a trappy finale BORDER FLORA is a tentative choice. She showed up well on her reappearance at Carlisle in November and shaped as if worth a try over this longer trip. Little Wizard has fitness to prove on his first run since May but will appreciate the return to further, having been outpaced last time at Hexham, and looks the principal threat. Too Cool To Fool is also no forlorn hope now handicapping and makes the shortlist, along with Talesofriverbank, who returned from a lay-off with a good effort at Newcastle in November.
Border Flora was unlucky to run into the very well-handicapped Douglas Julian at Carlisle last time and this looks a good opportunity for her to go one better. Talesofriverbank and Bardolet are others to consider.
