Henry Candy's enthusiasm for his chosen career never fails to wain and the search for the next big winner still figures high on his list of priorities despite having held a trainer’s licence since the end of 1973.
The likes of Time Charter, Master Willie and Kyllachy have established Candy as a well-respected figure and in recent years the exploits of Twilight Son and Limato have reconfirmed that given the right tools he is a man that can get the job done.
This season's leading light at Kingstone Warren is the progressive mare La Lune who has won both of her starts this season and gained her first Group 3 success in the Pinnacle Stakes at Haydock in May. La Lune heads back up the M6 this weekend in search of greater glories in the Group 2 Lancashire Oaks as Candy looks to end a quiet spell in recent weeks.
Henry kindly spokes to Tony Elves of attheraces.com about La Lune and several other interesting members of his team in Wantage.
