There can't be many trainers busier than Gary Moore as he combines training both Jumpers and Flat horses that would sap the energy of most, but his boundless enthusiasm remains and with 44 winners and £346,196 in prize money he already sailed past his total of 33 winners for last season.
This weekend looks particularly busy as Moore tries to rejuvenate the fortunes of his current stable star Goshen in the Kingwell Hurdle at Wincanton as well as sending out a strong team to several venues.
The Authorized gelding was one of the stars of last season when winning his first three hurdles at Fontwell, Sandown and Ascot and looked everything he was billed up to be until tragedy struck in the JCB Triumph hurdle at Cheltenham as Jamie Moore was cruely unseated at the last when ten lengths clear of his nearest pursuer.
Goshen was found to have an irregular heartbeat when disappointing on his reappearance in the International Hurdle at Cheltenham in December but the Lower Beeding trainer is happy that he has the five-year-old in good order for his return.
Gary kindly spoke to Tony Elves of attheraces.com about Goshen and those he hopes can make further gains during the second half of the season.
