Dan Skelton has his team in menacing form as the Cheltenham Festival rapidly approaches and 13 winners in the past fortnight and strike rate of 22% are just the sort of statistics you want to be reading from your horses.
The Alcester trainer has already notched up 105 winners this season and appears to have his strongest Festival team ever with Allmankind looking to maintain his unbeaten record over fences in what could be the race of the meeting pitted again Shishkin and Energumene in the Arkle Challenge Trophy on the opening day.
Nube Negra took the notable scalp of Festival superstar Altior in the Grade 2 Desert Orchid at Kempton over Christmas and his programme has been engineered for another clash with him and Chacun Pour Soi in the Queen Mother Champion Chase and Roksana looks very much a leading lady in her choice of engagements between the Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle and the Stayers' Hurdle.
Dan said: "We are really happy with them, but we obviously have to get this form to continue to Cheltenham week and beyond, so we are not there yet."
Skelton has several other candidates for the Festival and kindly talked to Tony Elves of attheraces.com about his prospects for the most important week of the year.
