Getabuzz and Franciscan shaped with promise on their seasonal debuts and are capable of making their presence felt while Illustrious Forest, who has been in great heart on the all-weather this year, merits respect even though raised in grade. There is likely better to come from Sir Henry Cecil's Royal Peculiar, too, but his latest Salisbury effort tempers enthusiasm and it might be worth siding with SUHAILI, who signed off last season by landing a competitive Doncaster handicap and runs off a workable mark of 87.
Eltheeb made a good start for this stable when third at Thirsk recently and, with that under his belt, stands a fair chance of resuming winning ways. However, there are plenty of dangers, the unexposed Royal Peculiar of particular interest back on a faster surface. Hamilton runner-up Getabuzz looks a solid proposition for each-way players.

Official ratings suggest SAAMIDD is the classiest horse in the race, and having started the current campaign with a highly encouraging effort on the all-weather at Kempton earlier in the month, Saeed Bin Suroor's colt, a Group 2 winner at two, should take plenty of beating on these terms. Lincoln winner Brae Hill may possibly find this trip on the sharp side and Regal Parade may appreciate some rain. The best option for the forecast could thus be C&D winner Smarty Socks, for whom conditions hold no fears.
Saamidd is lightly raced for a 4-y-o and is the form pick on his narrow Kempton reversal earlier this month, but he's not certain to back that up, so Boomerang Bob is selected instead down in class and in receipt of weight. Regal Parade is comfortably the pick of the rest.

Chester Cup third Gulf of Naples looks destined to have a hand in some of the big stayers' races later in the season. Dropped back in trip and switched to faster ground, however, there could be some mileage in taking him on with BARBICAN, who has found his stamina stretched in three runs over further this year but is a Listed winner over this distance. A Group 1 winner in France (albeit on softer ground) three years ago, Cavalryman is also capable of going well at Listed level if the ground doesn't hinder.
Anything close to Cavalryman's best will make him hard to beat, and he can take advantage of this drop in class. Gulf of Naples is unexposed and rates the chief threat.

Secret Witness scored over 6f here on the Wednesday of the Dante meeting and went down narrowly to stablemate Judge 'n Jury over C&D the following day. His style of running is evidently well suited to the demands of this track but off his revised rating, preference is instead for Irish raider CELERINA, who was third in this race twelve months ago and gets the verdict with the booking of Frankie Dettori suggesting Tommy Stack is not here for a cruise on the Ouse. Magical Macey and Lexi's Hero both have place possibilities.
Another competitive big-field York sprint handicap that can go to Irish raider Celerina who has improved since her fine third in this corresponding race last year. Lexi's Hero and Ancient Cross look dangers, while C&D winner Johannes will doubtless pop up again before long.

The form standard appears to be set by PAY FREEZE, who ran a debut full of promise at Newbury eight days ago when filling the runner's-up spot. Dolphin Rock is 6lb lower than when starting the season at Redcar and is certainly weighted to win races when conditions are in his favour. The ground may be faster than ideal for him here, however, and it might be worth siding with COUNT BERTONI, who is operating off a workable mark himself and whose rider boasts a wealth of experience in Ireland. Alfred Hutchinson and Regal Swain both possess lightly-raced profiles and it would come as no surprise to see either involved in the shake-up.
Shadowtime may have needed his comeback effort at Beverley last time and gets the vote here. Invincible Hero should give a good account again and is respected, while Aquarian Spirit and Regal Swain are other notable contenders.
