The newcomers all hail from yards perfectly capable of readying two-year-old newcomers with Odooj making the greatest appeal on paper for the Haggas yard. However, MANDY LEXI sets a strong standard, not only having gone very close on debut but having done so at this idiosyncratic track. Her track knowledge and experience make her the one to beat, although that excellent first run did come on very soft ground. Skytrain should improve from a satisfactory if unspectacular York debut.
Mandy Lexi made a highly promising start when a fast-finishing second at this venue recently and can go one better now stepped up to 6f. Odooj looks a likely type for his capable yard on debut and could prove the chief threat.

ASIAN TRADER showed up most pleasingly on his Doncaster debut a week ago and the Acclamation colt can progress from that promising beginning to score here. He'll be more streetwise for the run and, if anything, this looks a more straightforward assignment. He's also been allocated the ideal number one box. All Or Nothin shaped with real promise at Thirsk last time and should maintain his momentum. He looks the main threat with Elegant Girl and Multi Bene next best.
Elegant Girl just about sets the standard based on her latest run at Redcar, but there was much to like about the debut of Asian Trader last week, and he is taken to confirm that promise reappearing quickly here. All Or Nothin is another open to improvement and rates a danger to all.

Dr Marwan Koukash has his usual army of runners here and fires a double salvo. Gabrial's King's three wins have all come on Wolverhampton's polytrack and he remains unproven on turf so a chance is taken with GABRIAL THE HERO. He slammed his rivals in a maiden at Haydock on Thursday and has scope for plenty more improvement so looks like one to follow on his handicap bow, despite a 6lb penalty effectively taking his initial mark to 81. Singalat should improve for his Pontefract reappearance and looks next best in a very trappy affair.
Not much to separate a number of these but Gabrial's King is just favoured to come out on top given his low weight/draw. Rapid Heat Lad is an interesting contender off this mark and rates a danger, whilst Gabrial The Hero could be hard to peg back if allowed to dictate from the front and is respected.

ETON FOREVER ran a fine race in the Lincoln (started favourite) when just out of the places and continues to compile a solid sequence of efforts in really competitive handicaps. He remains lightly-raced and may have too much class for this opposition from a good draw despite shouldering topweight. Pintura inched home at the Chester Cup meeting but it wouldn't surprise to see Kyllachy Star reverse positions at these revised weights on better ground. Louis The Pious is not discounted either.
Eton Forever is a smart performer on his day and can make the most of a favourable draw here. Louis The Pious should strip fitter for his recent run and is respected, whilst Kyllachy Star will benefit from a stronger pace and can go close.

FAZZA showed a nice turn of foot to cut down his rivals at Thirsk last time over a mile and can follow-up here. He handles this good ground and can further advertise the training skills of the underrated Edwin Tuer. George Challoner's claim brings Calaf right into the equation and Knowe Head should be competitive again having only been raised 3lb for a game Newmarket success. Keep an eye on Watered Silk in the market for the in-form Tregoning team.
Look Left made a lacklustre start for David Simcock at Newcastle last month, but he will be more at home on this firmer surface and gets the call over Knowe Head, who makes more appeal than fellow recent winner Fazza, on account of his proven stamina.

Some interesting sorts here but CAPE EXPRESS scored rather cosily at Southwell over hurdles recently and it's interesting Nicky Henderson takes this route rather than seeking to follow up over timber. He shades the verdict over Qahriman who looks the sort to make a useful four-year-old handicapper under the shrewd tutelage of Luca Cumani after just five stars to date. Bradbury (was also engaged to run at Musselburgh on Friday evening) is respected and this will tell us how good Chabada is on turf.
Cape Express was extremely competitive off much higher marks when last seen on the Flat in 2009 and is too well handicapped to ignore back on the level, following a recent win over hurdles for his powerful new yard. Star Commander could prove the most troublesome if translating his progress back to turf.

An uninspiring contest but CREW CUT has the virtue of consistency and has gone well the last twice at Wolverhampton. However, he's a capable performer on turf where best efforts have come on good ground. The yard has had a couple of winners in recent days and he's a hopeful choice from a modest draw. Legal Eagle rediscovered his form at Thirsk last time and rates a danger on that evidence with Waking Warrior the other one to catch the eye.

This looks the stronger division with BOUNDARIES a tentative choice. He hasn't scored since the autumn of 2010 but is still capable of decent form and is now down to a workable mark for Tim Easterby to exploit. He has gone well here before and is just preferred to the in-form pair of Red Cape and Stevie Gee. Blown It also makes some appeal but his yard has yet to strike any sort of form in the current turf campaign.
Steelcut sets out for his new stable holding every chance of repeating his victory in this race 12 months go. He finished ahead of Red Cape when they were both placed on the AW last time and that rival is once again expected to be involved, with Ripon-third Boundaries completing the shortlist.
