It's difficult to look past BENESTAR after his ready success in a richer prize over track and trip last time, while Auteur and Civil Code are expected to chase the forecast short-price favourite home.
TICKET TO BROADWAY made a promising start to her racing career when third over 4 1/2f here in May and, with improvement expected, she looks the one to beat. Silent Serenity and Bagatelle Park are a couple of interesting newcomers.
CLEVER KING wasn't disgraced when third over track and trip latest and, with much less on his plate tonight, he can regain the winning thread. Last time out winners Man O' Mettle and Chac Mool are likely to give him most to think about.
CUTIE GIRL can finally break a run of five consecutive runner-up finishes in this contest as the four-year-old filly has held her form well recently and deserves a change in fortune. Quick Split is an obvious danger to the selection and should be considered carefully while Parvati appeals most of the rest.
A tricky maiden for punters to solve but BURMAH STAR appeals most after displaying an eye-catching turn of foot over shorter here in June when she ran on impressively, albeit without troubling the eventual winner. Also travelling well in that race was Thistoo Shall Pass and she represents the main threat to the selection while Pogo Stick Patty is worth keeping an eye on.
It might be worth taking a chance on the unexposed five-year-old MAXIOM in this maiden contest after showing promise here in June on just his third career start when finishing a creditable runner-up. Yo Tambien is most likely of the others in this field, as he continues to run to form while Borjomi shouldn't be ruled out.
MOLINARO FORT continues to acquit himself well in defeat and is taken to build upon his last-time-out second over 7f at this venue now reverting back to this shorter journey. Blushing Brat finished behind the selection when third last month and looks the best option for the exacta. Argument Close and Mostly Magic complete the shortlist.
Roxy Gap seemed to be found wanting for stamina when upped to a route here last time but has has shown in the past she gets this far when things drop right, albeit in weaker company. Grand Style is likely to go close if putting her best foot forward but this may be best left to HOI AN, who is progressing sharply and is expected to relish this step up in trip.
J J FOR DAVE rattled the crossbar over C&D last month but could gain compensation for his neck defeat now dropped in grade. Lord Of Greatness scored with a little up his sleeve here last time and is feared most, although chances are also given to Little Red Chris and Thunder Ball.
Plenty in with chances here but slight preference is for RUSSIAN ROSIE, who won a $40k claimer over a mile at Gulfstream three starts ago and has been performing with credit in the past 12 months in valuable allowance races. Alamanda Drive won in this grade two starts ago and looks the danger but chances could also be given to Hold That Echo and Secret Skills.
