An obvious opportunity for LESOTHO to get her head in front at the second time of asking and while likely to be on offer at very short odds, she arrives here with the best form in the book having impressed on debut at Doncaster. She will have learned a lot from that effort and will be tough to beat but newcomers Baltic Fizz and Caymana Girl could be interesting on their debuts, while Come To Mind looks best of the others.
Lesotho looks to face a straightforward task and it might be that newcomer Baltic Fizz turns out to be her biggest danger.

Jim Goldie has hit a fine run of form of late and it would be dangerous to rule out the chances of the unexposed filly Midnight Dynamo. Slight preference, however, is for CARRIE'S MAGIC who is worth another chance back at the scene of her most recent success in early June. Good ground will suit and she returns on a similar mark with Shane Kelly well worth his 7lb claim in the saddle. Opus Dei returns to the track after a lengthy lay-off but is worth keeping an eye on as he bids to continue where he left off last term.
Toby Tyler is in good form and had Midnight Dynamo back in fifth when the pair clashed over C&D in June, but that was only the latter's second start and she may get closer this time. Blues Jazz has already won twice here this term and is another to consider.

If DELIBERATION was to take to the surface on his return to turf and reproduce his effort as a juvenile, he will be a serious player in this maiden seller and is highest rated at 65. Ollie Pears is enjoying a successful season and was seen in the winning enclosure again this week at Catterick so King Bertolini (also engaged to run at Chester on Friday evening) and Rosbertini are two genuine dangers, likewise Chardonnay Star, who can get serious if back to the form that saw her finish runner-up over C&D in May.
A poor race and if Deliberation can repeat the form of his only previous run on turf the prize can be his. The Fiery Cross looks the main threat back down in class and trip.

ELTHEEB is worth another chance in this stayers event as he was staying on nicely at Pontefract on Tuesday and while not troubling the eventual winner, he shaped as though a step up in trip was needed so this extended 1m3f event will be right down his street. Jeu De Vivre has C&D form to her name and the Montjeu filly is a serious threat to the selection, likewise Unknown Rebel, who looks well treated despite finishing a beaten favourite last time out and course winning form is a big plus.
Jeu de Vivre has to be high on the shortlist after last month's victory here, but there could be some value to be had with Amir Pasha were this to become a thorough test at the trip. Daytime Dreamer won on his return to the Flat around this time in 2010 and figures on a similar mark, so can't be discounted.

Soft ground appears to be the key to Jim Goldie's Botham and with that in mind, it might be worth siding with another in-form trainer in Tim Easterby and THINKING. A winner at Beverley before a marginal defeat in similar company, the four-year-old scored over this trip at Musselburgh and as he's just 5lb higher in the ratings, it would be no surprise to see the gelding put back-to-back wins on the board. Social Rhythm could get serious if back to her best form of last term, while Hits Only Jude is also respected.
Course-specialist Botham should make a bold bid for a hat-trick, but it could be worth chancing Royal Straight who had no luck in running at Newcastle last time. The thriving Thinking should also be on the premises.

PIZZARRA is worth another chance in this contest despite disappointing last time out at Musselburgh. She has no problem when making the running over this minimum distance as she proved in May, but her effort in early June may have come too soon and this break will mean she arrives here fresh. Dotty Darroch returns after a C&D success last month and she must be considered, while Boundless Spirit also has claims on his best form but needs to improve on what he has shown so far this term.
Dotty Darroch deservedly got off the mark over C&D last time and should follow up against a bunch of out-of-form rivals. Tancred Spirit could be the one that chases her home.
