This mediocre event could well prove to be a head-to-head battle between LINGUINE and Rouge Devils. Preference is for the former because his two second-placed finishes in recent weeks, to some useful rivals, is better form than the latter's win in a moderate contest over C&D nine days ago. Trakeur was second to the Paul Nicholls representative last time and can fill third place.
LINGUINE can generally be trusted to give his running, which is all it will take to land this weak novice hurdle, his only real opposition coming in the shape of Rouge Devils, who is yet to come up to expectations in a hurdling career that is, admittedly, in its infancy.

In a moderate contest the marginal preference is for ON DEMAND, who has been knocking on the door since returning from a break. If she repeats the effort which saw her finish third here recently the daughter of Teofilo will be hard to keep out of the frame. Taste The Wine should run his usual honest race, while Orion's Might has to be considered following his second at Ludlow a couple of weeks ago.
A repeat of the form ON DEMAND showed when second to next-time-out winner Midnight Sapphire on her penultimate run would be enough to take what looks like a reasonable handicap hurdle for the grade. Tidestream and Titch Strider don't arrive at the top of their game, but both are down in the weights and offered more encouragement recently.

BOA ISLAND will not find many easier opportunities than this from his mark of 108 and he should be able to add another win for the in-form yard of Paul Nicholls. Code Of Law was not beaten far at all in a similar event at Plumpton earlier in the week and he has to be given the utmost respect, while Mille Nautique is another with claims.

I'M IN CHARGE won over 3m1f in similar conditions here back in May but was given a 14lb hike in the weights for a 26-length success over Azure Fly and he found a fairly handicapped horse in Present Man too strong for him over 2m4f here just nine days ago. The step back up in distance should bring about further improvement despite him needing a career best. Miss Serious fell at Exeter earlier in the week but has every chance if over that mishap, while Cernunnos is interesting stepping up in distance.
I'M IN CHARGE arrives in top form and goes well around here so shades the vote in a race where all 4 can be considered. Miss Serious is next best.

BAGAD BIHOUE was disappointing when last seen in the Persian War behind stablemate El Bandit but had brought up a hat-trick over timber before that and the drop down in class is a big positive for the son of Nickname. Coeur Tantre looks the only rival capable of giving the selection a race with his form improving over the last couple of months. Amalfi Doug shaped well on his hurdles bow at Stratford and looks best of the remainder.
BAGAD BIHOUE clearly wasn't himself in the Persian War 2 weeks ago, but connections are keen to press on with him, and assuming he's back on his game, he should outclass these. Coeur Tantre is the unimaginative forecast pick.

COURTLANDS PRINCE has been in excellent form throughout the summer and, with the ground still unseasonably dry enough for the son of Presenting, he should take a strong hand again. Alberta makes appeal returning to hurdles with the ground more suitable than his recent efforts over timber, while Billy My Boy should be thereabouts on his recent placed efforts at Worcester and Exeter.
COURTLANDS PRINCE wasn't seen to best effect in his bid to land the hat-trick at Bangor earlier this summer, but he still went like the best horse at the weights that day, and is well worth another chance to get back on the up. Alberta and Billy My Boy may well emerge as the chief threats.
