It could pay to side with RAISE THE BEAT in the opener. This useful bumper performer wasn't given a hard time when finishing fourth on his hurdling debut at Cork in late May and, as well as learning plenty from that experience, fitness levels may also be higher with that first appearance since last March out of the way. Ontheground has reached the frame in both starts so far this year and should give another good account, while Realt Den Chathair and Tipperary bumper scorer Do Ya Feel Lucky also have claims.
Ontheground is taken to build on some decent placed efforts by belatedly getting off the mark here. Raise The Beat would be a danger if bringing his smart bumper form to hurdling, while Realt Den Chathair is a regular visitor to the frame.

MOUNT WELCOME edges the vote in what looks a very winnable event. Prior to a fairly disappointing effort at Sligo last time, Philip Rothwell's charge ran a cracker, finishing runner-up, over this C&D under Barry Geraghty and he warrants plenty of respect with the top pilot booked to do the steering again. Bulletproof was just 3 1/2-lengths behind the selection in fourth that day and has definite claims getting a nice swing in the weights here, while Kai Li rates an each-way contender.
Kai Li should be suited by conditions here, and can take advantage of a workable handicap mark in a race where few of his rivals have positive profiles, though at least Bulletproof and Mount Welcome have some recent form in the book.

OPERA MUSIC appears to have been found a great opportunity to open his hurdling account. With a little more luck, he would probably have won at Tramore latest (got squeezed for room between the last couple of flights) and a 4lb rise in the ratings may not be enough to stop him if he can reproduce that level of performance. Never Bold makes plenty of appeal following his much improved Clonmel performance, while The Gnathologist and Celtic Cailin are others worthy of consideration.
Opera Music was unfortunate to miss out when forced to switch at Tramore last time, and has obvious claims of going one better now. He gets the nod over Never Bold and The Gnathologist.

It's difficult to look past the in-form DRUMLISTER. He came agonizingly close to following up his Tramore success at Downpatrick last time and dropping half a mile in trip today shouldn't cause any problems to this gelding, who likes to get on with things. The form of Banna Beach's third over hurdles at Bellewstown looks fairly solid, with the second and fourth both winning since, and he merits consideration back over fences, while Inverawe is no forlorn hope on what is just his third start under Rules.
Despite a sharp rise in the weights Drumlister is hard to oppose having won at Tramore and then only narrowly denied at Downpatrick since. Banna Beach has been a bit more like his old self of late and if carrying that form back to the bigger obstacles could also take a hand. Nivek's Dream could yet make his mark over fences and completes the shortlist.
