Quite a competitive maiden in which SO SECRET is taken to build on an excellent if belated reappearance effort when hunting up Prince Jock at Fairyhouse just under a fortnight ago. The Barathea filly was well supported that day and can go one better back against her own sex with that run under her belt. Treasure The Cross should be all the better for her comeback run too, when filling the minor placing behind Ice Empress. Seasonal debutant Saajidah, Moriches and Chachalacas are all well worth a second look in an interesting contest.
Saajidah boasts some good maiden form from last year, and is definitely the one to beat if at the same level on her reappearance. Treasure The Cross is open to improvement and can give the selection most to worry about, while So Secret also has good place claims judged on her second last time out.

Little between many of these but BY THE SEA has shown a progressive profile in handicap company this term and looked to have something in hand when scoring cosily at Gowran Park recently. She goes particularly well for today's pilot and can supplement those gains despite an 8lb hike in the ratings. Cloud Fire has been tried over a variety of trips but could be competitive here now the handicapper has dropped her a few pounds since the start of the campaign. Headford Lady, just inched out last time at this trip, also merits respect.
By The Sea won comfortably at Gowran last time and she looks capable of defying a higher mark here. Boynagh Joy put up a creditable comeback effort at Naas and shouldn't be far away if in the same form, while Headford Lady also has claims after a good second on return.

FAMMI SOGNARE was beaten nearly 15 lengths by runaway winner The Silver Crown at Ballinrobe just four days ago but had most of the large field behind her and this looks a more straightforward opportunity. She previously displayed sound battling qualities when inching home at Leopardstown and looks the safest option. Positive Step, slightly disappointing last time, looms as a potent threat if repeating her solid Limerick effort on her previous appearance. She should be open to improvement, whilst Orata has suggested that there is more come after showing some promise in maiden company.
King of Aran wasn't seen to best effect in a Curragh handicap last time but still put up an effort that gives him sound form claims, so he's taken to get the better of the lightly-raced Orata and the in-form Fammi Sognare.

A number of these have shown promise in ordinary maiden company and much will depend on their level of improvement as to how they feature here. Therefore, it might be safer to row in with the older and more experienced BORN TO EXCEL. Runner-up in each of his last three outings, the gelding has never been beaten more than a length and could represent the value option. Key Secure and Midnight Soprano are the obvious improvers but the main threat could be Green Art, disappointing last time but with an appealing overall profile. Total Reality is another to note.
The superbly-bred Key Secure did enough on her debut at Gowran, when finding only a potentially useful sort too good, to suggest she'll be hard to beat. Scots Gaelic is hard to weigh up but could go well at a price if not unduly flattered by last time, with Green Art a solid selection to complete the 3.

ROSESKA is being sent over fences at a very early stage of her career but receives a major weight allowance and arrives in good form. The filly ran a decent second in a Gowran Park handicap before filling the minor placing behind The Fonze at Limerick this month. Likely to race prominently off this low weight, she could lead these a merry dance if her fencing holds up. In contrast, Rookery Rebel has plenty of chasing experience and has shown enough to suggest a race of this nature is within his capabilities. Our Symphony, Salesin and Ireland's Call are also considered.

OLD HALL was well supported here last time to follow up a convincing Tipperary success but came to grief at an early stage. He was raised 9lb for that victory but scored in sufficiently impressive style to indicate he could defy the handicapper in future. He has yet to win over this far but his style of running suggests the trip will be well within his compass. Artiste Bay will have no stamina concerns and is an interesting proposition in first-time blinkers whilst Deputy Consort and Major Decision both showed enough last time to harbour each-way possibilities.
Selecting Old Hall will win no prizes for originality but, off a mark 9 lb higher than when readily scoring at Tipperary in June, he has to be high on the shortlist. Billie Beg is an interesting contender as he's potentially well treated on his hurdles form, but the trip is a slight worry as he's failed to see it out before. The consistent Artiste Bay can fare best of the rest.

Expect the market to prove a useful guide but at this stage BATTLING BORU sets a fair standard on the evidence of a much improved second run when staying on nicely into third place behind Har Will at Limerick. Further improvement should be forthcoming and the second that day, Jewel In The Sun, gave the form a pleasing boost when scoring earlier this week in a similar contest. Charming Blue also displayed promise with a debut third at Tipperary and should come on for that, whilst point-to-point winner Quenzo Pierji should benefit from a mid-division finish at Roscommon this month.
Battling Boru and Charming Blue bring comfortably the best form to the table in this bumper and should fight out the finish, the former just taken to hold sway. Sliabh Rua is a token selection to chase them home.
