Eton Rambler, another hurdling debutant, is rated 2lb higher than the former on the Flat and has won his last couple of starts in that code, so he merits consideration, while Chloe's Image could fare best of those with NH experience.

Although his recent form figures don't inspire much confidence, it has to be taken into consideration that his last three assignments have been in either Listed or Grade 3 company and he can take much closer order as he drops significantly in class this afternoon. Interesting that Golden Call has left the Donald McCain stable since romping home in a novices' chase at Bangor last May but he should mount a bold bid if returning in anything like the same mood, while the hat-trick-seeking Dorset Naga and dropped-in-class Grandads Horse also hold solid claims. The vote, however, goes to TARA ROSE. She signed off last term with a gritty Listed handicap win over 2m5f at Cheltenham and looks well capable of defying a 4lb rise.

Golden Call looked a chaser going places on his debut over these obstacles for Donald McCain last May, and will be in the mix if ready to go after 17 months off, while the hat-trick seeking Dorset Naga's sound jumping seems sure to stand him in good stead around here, but Tara Rose is another arriving here on the back of 2 wins, and she looks to have much more to offer over fences this term.

Useful Flat performer Three Kingdoms has proved largely disappointing over hurdles thus far and although still respected, he's taken on with WILD CARD. The First Trump gelding has switched stables (from Henry Daly to Donald McCain) since winning on his hurdling debut at Towcester (2m) in April, but that form has subsequently taken a number of boosts and this extra half a mile should pose no problems. Also worth a look is Perth bumper third Kilbree Chief.

Top Tip: Wild Card (2)
Watch out for: Three Kingdoms (14)

It'll be a big surprise if Towcester winner Wild Card doesn't have more to come for new handler Donald McCain and he gets the vote ahead of Three Kingdoms. Mister Bricolage is another who could go well on his first start for Fergal O'Brien.

LONG WAVE is taken to make a winning debut over fences. He backed up July's 3m handicap hurdle win at Uttoxeter when third over the same C&D last time and, having landing a point-to-point event in his youth, he looks capable of doing equally as well, if not better, over the larger obstacles. Charlie Longsdon could hardly be in better form at the moment either. Susquehanna River, another chasing debutant, rates the biggest threat on the back of his second over hurdles at Ludlow, ahead of the returning Dark Glacier.

Dark Glacier would be thrown in if rekindled by a move to Peter Bowen, but he's a risky proposition, and preference is for a trio of chasing debutants from in-form yards, with Long Wave the pick, ahead of Susquehanna River and Settledoutofcourt. All 3 have experience in points which should aid the transition to the larger obstacles.
