Winner of a similar race at Wolverhampton two starts ago, he proved that to be no fluke when finishing half-a-length second at Bath last time out and useful 3lb claimer Charles Bishop helps negate a 2lb rise in the weights for that effort. Pharoh Jake and Metropolitan Chief are other interesting contenders.

Charlie Appleby's newcomer Quoth is an attractively bred daughter of Raven's Pass and cost 75,000 euros. She could ask most questions of the selection, although Pelerin, Stars Aligned and The Silver Kebaya are other debutants to consider closely.

MYSTICAL SAPPHIRE is two from four thus far and both career wins have come over C&D. She looked a little out of her depth, at this stage of her career, when stepped up into a Group 3 at Newbury last time out, but she sets a good standard now eased back into handicap company and there should be more to come from her. Rufoof really has the bit between her teeth at present and is respected chasing the hat-trick, while Lunette also arrives in good form.

MURASIL comfortably beat today's rivals Aalim (fifth) and Hope's Wishes (seventh) when beaten by a head on debut, and with more expected on his second outing, he can gain compensation this time. Okavango improved significantly when making her second start, getting within half a length of a rival that had her well beaten on debut, and with more improvement likely after a break, she looks a big danger. Saddaqa may have had a good few opportunities to get off the mark but her form on the all-weather looks much more promising and a return to this surface could help.

Top Tip: Murasil (7)
Watch out for: Okavango (12)

Murasil was sent off a bigger price than stablemate Aalim when the pair made their respective debuts here recently, but showed considerably more, and he looks a banker for a maiden, hopefully this one. Okavango looks the chief threat, though Sharareh is likely to bounce back after a break.
