This looks a tricky puzzle to solve, but NOLECCE proved he is in decent nick when scoring on the level at Wolverhampton earlier this month and was a winner at this venue last November. Hallstatt is another who reverts to hurdles after showing signs of promise on the Flat recently and is respected with Noel Fehily in the plate. Vicky's Charm makes plenty of appeal now she moves into handicaps, and the return to a 0-100 might help the chances of Unidexter.

KINGS RIVER has been disappointing so far, but is surely capable of better (cost a bit and represents a successful yard), so in the hope he is tight in the betting on reappearance, he is offered as the selection. Hallstatt should really be competitive, while Nolecce is a C&D winner arriving on the back of an AW success.

The Alan King-trained Carraig Mor took the prize two years ago, and the Barbury Castle handler is represented this time by French import Mille Nautique, who showed ability on the continent. OUT OF THE MIST achieved a good level of form in mares' bumpers and was unlucky to finish sixth when she was hampered in a Listed contest at Sandown in March. Lady Persephone trailed her in Esher but is impossible to discount for a stable in flying form, and Madame Trigger is another contender bidding to reverse form with Out Of The Mist after she denied her fifth spot at Huntingdon in December. Lady Of Lamanver was a solid yardstick last term and is respected, while any market support behind the French import Sanaija might be worth noting.

ARTHAMINT shaped better than the bare result when sixth at Ludlow and with his sights now lowered, he is fancied to strike for his in-form yard. Nafaath is also eased slightly in class and although he hasn't tasted success for over five years, he should give the selection something to think about. Mulligan's Man can make his presence felt, while it wouldn't be the greatest surprise to see Positive Vibes bounce back.

A cracking beginners' chase can go the way of GARDE LA VICTOIRE. Last season's Greatwood Hurdle hero was the best of these over timber, and Philip Hobbs has been incredibly bullish about the six-year-old's prospects over fences for the coming campaign. Bristol De Mai was put in his place by him at Sandown in January, but connections have wasted no time in sending him over the larger obstacles and he commands respect. Regal Encore and Astre De La Cour shouldn't be discounted either.

Watch out for: Bristol De Mai (6)

A high quality event with most at least useful over hurdles. BRISTOL DE MAI and Garde La Victoire were the best in that sphere, the former narrowly preferred in receipt of weight.

There's no stopping LADY OF LONGSTONE at present, and David Pipe's mare is 7lb well-in under her penalty here. She will likely prove tough to beat as she bids to land the hat-trick, but Midnight Sapphire has been in good heart recently as well and should give the selection something to think about. Kayla was no match for Lady Of Longstone at Worcester but can give a good account of herself, along with Little Dream and Taylor.
