Form students will be very much aware of the fact that both Ctappers and RIGHT TO RULE have already gained the scalp of Tim Vaughan's Alborz, but the latter is preferred in receipt of weight this afternoon. Mick Channon's charge is forced to carry a penalty for scoring in a similar race at Market Rasen back in July and Donald McCain's son of Rock Of Gibraltar can build on what was a pleasing start behind the impressive Rapid Heat Lad at Bangor a fortnight ago.

Watch out for: Ctappers (1)

Right To Rule won on the Flat for his previous yard, and despite failing to live up to expectations on his recent hurdling debut, looks worth another chance. Ctappers won a similar event in July, and was also successful back on the level in August, which entitles him to play a leading role.

Un Bon P'tit Gars displayed his battling qualities to get back up after being headed over C&D earlier this year, but he's forced to give weight away to the field on his return from a 158-day absence. BUBBY LOVE is also returning from a 146-day lay off but she represents some value at the forecast prices, is nicely treated by the race conditions and lines up on the back of an accomplished bumper performance at Towcester in May. Benjamin Bittern is another interesting hurdles newcomer for his shrewd connections.

Salut Honore also warrants close consideration off his current mark and wasn't for stopping when scoring on heavy ground here five starts ago, but KILCASCAN arrives race-fit and has every chance dropping in class if punters are willing to forgive a lacklustre C&D display last month.

Lucky Lukey won this race 12 months ago but may just struggle off a 23lb higher mark this time, so the threatening ADIOS ALONSO is worth siding with returning to the handicap ranks off what looks a workable mark under a 7lb claimer.

LUKEYS LUCK hasn't done his handicap mark any favours in defeat in recent times but Jennie Candlish's charge now has underfoot conditions in his favour and is taken to score coming back to 2m. He threatened on quicker ground off a 1lb lower mark over further here the last day, so the C&D winner should be bang there if in a similar mood. Swift Arrow is likely to attract some support, and rightly so on the back of an accomplished Kelso win back in May, while Bay Central completes the shortlist.
