A competitive heat but TARLA remains a mare to follow over hurdles, despite pulling up on the Flat at Listowel last month. Something was clearly amiss that day and she's better judged on her previous 20-length victory over timber at Roscommon. Mae's Choice and Burn And Turn both have to concede weight to the selection but the former looked a really promising type last term and her ability to handle heavy ground makes her a serious contender.

TRIFOLIUM proved himself a top-notch hurdler in the making with two fine efforts in Grade 1 company last season, following his Cheltenham Festival Supreme Novices' third with a fine runner-up effort in the Champion Novice Hurdle at this track the following month. He should be competing at the top table this winter and looks to have been well placed to make a winning returning to action this afternoon. Miley Shah produced a career best performance when third to Captain Cee Bee in Grade 2 company recently while Dysios needs to step up from his fourth-placed effort in a handicap hurdle at Listowel latest.

HOT PROSPECT finished lame on his disappointing hurdling debut at Fairyhouse back in January but the Motivator gelding was a Group performer on the Flat when trained by the late Michael Jarvis and shaped really well in that sphere at the Curragh last month. He should be much sharper now and remains an exciting prospect over hurdles. Rule The World is interesting, making his NH debut having changed hands for 90,000 euros following an impressive success between the flags almost a year ago. Absolute Heretic has been disappointing since sent hurdling but his classy Flat profile makes him hard to completely ignore.

BAILY GREEN is clearly a chaser going places and made it five wins from her last five starts when impressively landing a Grade 3 contest at Roscommon earlier this month, giving weight and an 18 length beating to House Rules in similar conditions. Despite conceding weight all round, he is fancied to win again, this time at the main expense of Special Tara, who made a winning start over fences when beating Plan A at Ballinrobe. He clearly has a future in this sphere, as does recent Gowran Park winner Protaras.

FOLLOW THE PLAN failed to do himself justice in the Galway Plate when last seen but he remains a class act and his Grade 1 Betfair Bowl win at the Aintree Festival in the spring is the stand out piece of form here. Second to China Rock at this venue on his final start of last season, he ticks plenty of boxes and is preferred to the returning Joncol, who loves ground this deep but he hasn't been seen since disappointing in the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas. Magnanimity has a fair bit to find but might fare best of the rest.

This is wide open and only a tentative vote goes the way of SHERIKA. The 7-y-o comes into this in really good form and followed her Killarney second with a good fourth over 3m at Listowel last month. She should be able to make her presence felt with similar sentiments also applicable to Dunroe Boy, second at Downpatrick on his latest start. Western Star has been knocking on the door recently but the handicapper continues to punish him for his consistency.
