Major Oak wasn't totally convincing in the heavy ground at Wetherby last month and he may be made to play second-fiddle again today. Milton Des Bieffes is of major interest back over timber, but MR STRACHAN earns the vote. His proximity to Grade 2 winner Kanpai at Haydock in November was particularly impressive and Sue Smith's charge is open to further improvement.

Kerry Lads continues to perform with credit and can't be ruled out easily, but he saves his best efforts for Wetherby and could be exposed to more youthful rivals today. Clock House made a very good impression on his first outing for Tom George when scoring over 2m at Wetherby last month but his Irish form suggests there are stamina limitations and YOUNG LORCAN could be the one to follow. He looked out of sorts over fences last month but is fairly well treated back over timber and, already boasting four wins here on testing ground, he's clearly dangerous to ignore. Having ground out a narrow victory on his chasing debut over 3m2f at Warwick last time, it's hard to look beyond PASSENGER OMAR on his follow-up attempt. He relished a true test of stamina that day and looks to have plenty of scope in this new code. Always Waining on a 3m hurdle last April and, despite scoring over fences on soft ground last month, he has a tough task off top weight. Finzi could give the selection most to worry about.
