Hector was bitterly disappointing when upped to this trip for the first time earlier in the month and the jury is still out as to whether he has the stamina to score here. The last comment also applies to Bye Bye See Ya who hasn't yet raced beyond 6.5f, so a better option appears to be BABY FACE ASSASSIN. The selection was put in his place in stronger company last time but is considered a player at this level. Cash Receipt makes up the shortlist.
CHASE RED is the epitome of consistency and perhaps rates the safest option in a wide open maiden claimer. Betemstraight seems to be going the right way and could pose the greatest threat to the selection. Pirate Pete and Almostdidnothappen are two others that are expected to be scrapping it out for minor honours.
The line came too quickly for CAPT. JOE BLOW last time but this extra furlong looks ideal for this dual distance winner and a return to winning ways looks likely. Rake And A Rambler has done all of his winning over further and there is a suspicion he may be outpaced over this trip. Strum Bum scored over C&D earlier in the month and can chase home the selection.
RELATORRE had the beating of Camp Verde in a $25k stakes race when last seen and although the selection threw away his chance to follow up when hanging last time, he does remain open to further progress and can resume his improvement. Mansiones is never far away and enters calculations along with Raton Pass.
AYELU accounted for five of these rivals when scoring over C&D latest and he did the job with plenty to spare so it is hard to see the form being reversed this evening. Kachina Dream chased the selection home last time out but a bigger threat tonight may be posed by Franny B, who drops in grade here.
Fighting Legend filled the runner-up spot in a similar event last time out but he may have to play second fiddle again, this time to TRAFFIC UPDATE. The selection narrowly went down over C&D latest and a repeat performance may suffice in this company. All True completes the shortlist.
SAMBISTA was a facile winner over C&D earlier in the month and is taken to score again in this grade whilst she is evidently in good heart. The ever dependable That's How We Roll can give her most to think about as she always gives her running in this grade. Lista and No Wonder complete the shortlist.
Prarie Falcon produced a career-best speed figure here last time but the step up in trip is a slight concern and SHRYOCK is preferred. The selection failed to see out a mile here earlier in the month so this drop back to 7f looks a positive move. Rogue River is effective at this trip but, along with Sky Chief, has a little to prove on the back of recent efforts.
Truckee Dream and Hot Nurse are closely matched on their 5f running here earlier in the month. The former should be able to confirm the form as he is open to a greater level of improvement, but IT'S PARTYTIME is taken to get the better of both. She has been acquitting herself well over 6f and should have no problems coping with this slight drop in trip.
