It's worth giving another chance to I'M BROKE here. He's still a maiden after eight starts but has put in some good efforts and takes a big drop in class tonight. The danger looks to be Palace Causeway second in a similar contest over a route here last time, although the lightly-raced Quail Hollow is making good progress and might not be too far away.
This should go the way of DAHLIATRICKDECAT, who has been running well in better races and just missed out in this grade over C&D last time. She looks to heading back to her best and will take all the beating. Moonlight Missy, second in a better race last time but well held, looks the one for the exacta while Countingoncarolynn takes a big drop in class and might not be too far away.
In a wide-open affair it could pay to side with the experience of GRACE ALLEY. Three of her four outings have come in much tougher contests - where she's performed with credit - and her close second in this grade two starts ago looks winning form tonight. Newcomer Jealous Girl, who has been clocking some fast times in her work, could prove the biggest threat while Guest House is going the right way and could take a hand in the finish.
This is a tricky puzzle to solve but TRUE SUCCESS, fourth in a valuable allowance race over a route here last time, looks the one to be on. Before his last outing, he completed a hat-trick, including two more valuable claimers than this, and will prove too good if on his best behaviour. Gone Trajectory isn't the most consistent but is certainly up to winning a race like this if it's a going day, while Irish Majesty is chasing a four-timer and, twice a winner in better contests than this, is another to consider.
Senor Louie and Novelle Prize were third and fourth in this grade over C&D last time and should play a leading role tonight, especially as the pair are unexposed and open to further improvement. DARK INVADER hasn't really threatened in four starts but has been running in much tougher contests. His fifth over a route here last time suggested, however, he would be suited by a shorter trip and he can open his account, taking a big drop in class tonight.
It would be a great surprise if NIGHT PEARL wasn't up to winning in this grade as she was third in a $75k allowance contest at Monmouth in August and must surely retain some of that ability. Miss Rapture has work to do with the selection on their recent 6.5f running so a greater threat appears to come from Blitzensfoxyvixsin, who advertised her well being with a respectable second here at the start of the month.
HUNTER'S SCORE had no problems seeing out this trip when stepped up from 7f last time and ran out a wide margin winner. Further improvement is expected at this trip and he can get the better of Race Caller Luke (back in third last time out) once again. Silent Trick has place possibilities and completes the shortlist.
CHARGING HERO posted a career-best speed figure over C&D last time and is evidently in rude health at present. More is needed in this stronger contest but he should give it his best shot whilst on top of his game. Mas Macho is as gutsy as they come and will not go down without a fight. Six Clicks was denied by only a head over C&D last month and is another to consider.
ON VACATION has scored with plenty in hand at Aqueduct the last twice and looks the one to be on now freshened up from a little break. Paydirt is searching for a four-timer and shouldn't be too far away as he is running to a tremendous level of consistency judging by his speed figures. Heritage Hall has plenty more to offer over this distance and is another that must be considered.
SUMMITING rattled the crossbar here over the extended five furlongs two weeks ago but this extra yardage looks ideal and can enable him to gain compensation. Stormy Prince was behind the selection that day and may have to settle for minor money at best. One Chin Again usually gives his running and also merits consideration for the forecast.
