IL PRESIDENTE looked potentially top-class when an impressive bumper winner at Fontwell in 2012 but the nine-year-old has been limited to just three subsequent starts. There was some promise in his comeback run at Uttoxeter last month and he this race will not take much winning. Buachaill Beag has shown some improvement in each start under Rules and the step up in trip should suit, while Only A Tipple is another to show minor promise in bumpers.
IL PRESIDENTE has clearly had a few problems but showed clear signs of retaining his ability on his recent return from a long absence and will take a bit of stopping. Only A Tipple failed to see his race out on his bumper debut but could still be the one to give the selection most to do.

The drop back to 2m and first-time cheekpieces saw a return to form for ACES OVER EIGHTS when the seven-year-old was second at Worcester last time. Heurtevent beat the selection on that occasion but with a 5lb swing in the weights and this more testing finish over the minimum trip, the Kerry Lee-trained mare can reverse that form. Bobble Boru, Lakeshore Lady and Norse Light also have claims, while Pembroke House completes the shortlist.
BOBBLE BORU was yet to be asked for an effort when unseating her rider at Bangor last time, and she is well worth another chance from this sort of mark. Point-winner Lakeshore Lady shaped well on chase debut this month and the drop back to 2m shouldn't be an inconvenience, while Norse Light looks sure to win races over fences.

The consistent Kayla should run her usual solid race but does look vulnerable up against the geldings today, although she will relish this quick ground. The form of ROYAL BATTALION'S second at Worcester recently was boosted when the winner was successful once again despite an 8lb hike in the ratings. That makes the selection's more modest 3lb rise look very fair and he has run well from higher ratings in the past. Phare Isle has won here before, while Arthur Mc Bride would have a chance based on his second to Solstice Star last December.
KAYLA is unexposed and can build on her recent comeback second at Uttoxeter and notch a second success over hurdles. Phare Isle has been thereabouts off similar marks of late and should be on the premises again, while Strollawaynow has been given a big chance by the handicapper ahead of this return to hurdles.

The application of blinkers and the return to better ground seemed to bring about the best in DUSK TILL DAWN when he was successful at Newton Abbot last week. A 7lb penalty for that success makes life tougher but he faces mainly exposed rivals today. Upbeat Cobbler was hugely impressive over C&D back in March but she has to prove herself on this quicker ground and must defy an 11lb hike in the handicap. The consistent Reblis can make the frame once again.

It is very hard to oppose NO NO MAC, who has upwards of 27lb in hand against his rivals today. He does have to shoulder a 7lb penalty for his win in a handicap chase at Market Rasen recently but that came from a mark of 125, an achievement none of his rivals today could match. The rest look extremely moderate but winning pointer High Counsel can pose the main threat to the selection. Fitz Volonte and Tikketoride both have masses to find but the former would be the preference of that pair.
This should be a veritable penalty kick for NO NO MAC, who landed a handicap chase at Market Rasen with a good deal of authority earlier this month. The 7-y-o faces little in the way of credible opposition here. High Counsel is expected to claim second place without too much trouble, given that Fitz Volonte and Tikketoride look very limited indeed.

HANDPICKED put in a much-improved effort on her first start in handicap company last time out. That came in a 0-120 class 4 against the geldings and she makes plenty of appeal following a 3lb drop in the ratings along with being back against her own sex. Mrs Burbidge was in good form on the all-weather over the winter and she should be capable of picking up a race from this lowly rating. Pretty Rose can make her presence felt in this moderate contest despite being off the track for 237 days.
The combination of this drop back in trip and faster ground should suit STEPOVER, who was unable to sustain her effort when fourth on heavy going at Southwell a few weeks ago. She's worth supporting off a 4 lb lower mark here. Handpicked wasn't disgraced in a slightly stronger contest at Ludlow last time and is feared most, ahead of Irondale Express and Hang Fire.

EVER SO MUCH was successful over fences at Southwell a week ago from a rating of 103 and he tries to exploit a hurdles mark that is just 1lb higher today. Another to arrive here in fine form is Double Accord and she must not be discounted, although she looks vulnerable for win purpose from joint top weight. The booking of Gavin Sheehan catches the eye for Running Wolf, while Virgil Earp is also worthy of consideration.
EVER SO MUCH won off a similar mark over fences last week and is taken to follow up. Double Accord has been a different proposition since the ground has dried out and should give it another good shot, while Sonneofpresenting's handicap debut was too bad to be true and he remains with potential back from a short break.
