There are plenty of exposed platers on show and it may pay to take them all on with the lightly-raced SHERBET LEMON. Henry Daly's Nayef filly has been progressing steadily if unspectacularly and filled the minor placing behind Dontpaytheferryman on similarly testing ground. That form affords her a fair chance here and she may also improve again. Ruling Reef had a pipe-opener on the Flat six days ago and could go close, whilst Miss Phoebe takes a massive drop in class and should be noted in the market.

Venetia Williams is obviously keen to get further experience into her talented French import, AACHEN, after the Rainbow Quest gelding enjoyed no more than a schooling round at Market Rasen on Monday. This is tougher but he looks a recruit of note and he can complete a 17-day hat trick. Neil Harvey will never reach the heights of his illustrious cricketing namesake but he likes it here (won last twice) and looks the main threat. Kilvergan Boy also won here on his debut and is the other leading contender.

PIPO DE RE was in contention when falling four out at Wincanton, having been strongly supported. He will have no problems with trip or ground on this most demanding of tracks and is taken to gain recompense here off the same mark. Fourball looks a potent threat after a highly satisfactory return to action at Leicester from a year off. His rider takes off a valuable 5lb and he has an outstanding chance if the 'bounce' factor does not kick in. Pacco has taken well to fences and looks next best.

It's tempting to side with Woodlands Genpower as he seeks a C&D hat-trick but he's been punished with a 10lb rise for a win in modest company and the handicapper may exact revenge. Finding an alternative is tricky with many chances in a wide-open contest but the choice is MOUSTIQUE DE L'ISLE. He has enough weight but is a dour stayer who will get the trip on this ground. It will be interesting to see how improving novice hurdler Stick Together gets on pitched into handicap company for his chase debut.

TASTES LIKE MORE makes a quick reappearance after hunting up the potentially useful Rate Of Knots at Carlisle on Monday. She was never going to beat the winner but stuck on well, suggesting that a battle on this tough track will suit. Tizzy Blue has not been seen since last April but she had developed into a promising novice hurdler by then and will pose a major threat if translating that form to fences. Catch The Stars, entered on Saturday, looks next best if taking his chance for the second time in two days.

A trappy finale as many have shown glimmers of form without looking like winning. Gentle Caribou, Guydus and Douryna fall into that category but the soundest credentials are held by Alora Money and ZOENICIBEL. The former made much of the running when third at Newcastle and suggested that this test will suit, but the selection is preferred. He returns from a break but showed plenty of promise on heavy ground behind fair yardstick Brackenmoss at Hexham and improvement looks assured.
