Plenty to consider but LOCALISER catches the eye on his handicap debut and an initial mark of 70 may not be beyond him. The Declan Carroll inmate ran two promising races on his first couple of outings last year and was totally inconvenienced by the drop back to 6f on his final outing at Redcar in October. Back up in trip with another winter behind him, a bold bid can be expected. Northside Prince was in decent form in the autumn and is only 3lb higher than when third at Newcastle in September. Sir George, Ansells Pride and French Art are also impossible to ignore.
Northside Prince, Templetuohy Max and Fujin Dancer stand out as the best handicapped ones in an open-looking race, but it may be that the last-named is most likely to take advantage. He shaped as if close to top form at Wolverhampton a week ago and that should have him spot on for this.

Laureldeans Best must be accorded respect for the red-hot Richard Fahey team but Tim Easterby also has his string in decent form and AMETHYST DAWN is marginally preferred. The Act One filly bounced back to her very best when scoring at Nottingham on her final outing of last season and she can follow up despite resuming off a 7lb higher mark. Very Well Red won readily at Nottingham earlier this month and shouldn't be dismissed, while King Of The Moors could also get involved.

Slight preference is for the latter, who showed a good attitude when edging out Internationaldebut on his seasonal bow at Doncaster last month. A 5lb rise for that narrow win doesn't look overly harsh and the yard is clearly thriving at present. Opus Maximus, placed in several competitive handicaps last term, and the Barry Hills-trained Glen Molly are among the chief dangers.
Richard Fahey has made a blinding start to the turf season and he has two solid contenders in this, She's In The Money getting the vote. Horatio Carter goes well fresh and is entitled to consideration as a result, while it's not out of the question that Joseph Henry may run into a place at a big price.

Another open heat but it could be worth taking a chance on ANDHAAR. He found life tough in handicap company after winning a Lingfield maiden last June but there was plenty to like about his reappearance run at Doncaster last month and the ground was plenty slow enough for him that day. Ahmedy won on the all-weather off this mark in October and has a recent hurdles run under his belt, while Interdiamonds is still unexposed and is entitled to have improved from three to four.
Ahmedy is more likely than not to give his running, and Andhaar is entiteld to improve for his reappearance effort, but it may be worth chancing Dzesmin. The selection needs to improve on recent efforts, but has become very well treated, and represents a yard in fantastic form.

ESUVIA appears to fall into both categories having followed up her Southwell maiden win with an impressive victory over this trip at Musselburgh earlier in the month and a 9lb hike in the ratings may not be enough to prevent her landing the hat-trick. Dispol Keasha is a major danger on her handicap bow having run in decent company after winning her maiden last May. Tillys Tale, Waveband and Tasmeem are also high on the shortlist.
Esuvia looked a sprinter on the up when scoring impressively at Musselburgh last time and, well drawn, looks to have plenty going for her on her hat-trick attempt. Tasmeem is interesting starting out for Richard Fahey, while Durham Express appeals as the type to go on to better things this year.

Henry Candy is a trainer to follow in the sprint division and he looks to have found a good opportunity for MARKAB to make a winning return to action. The speedy son of Green Desert landed the Great St Wilfrid off a mark of 100 over this C&D in August and signed off for 2009 with a creditable fifth in Group 3 company at Ascot. Advanced is only 1lb inferior to the selection on official figures and can certainly take a hand in the finish, but Fitz Flyer could pose a bigger threat following his fine third to Inxile at Doncaster.
Markab took in several of the big handicaps last season, usually emerging with a deal of credit, but his style of running should be at least as effective in this smaller field, and he's taken to make a successful return. Advanced is his chief rival on the book, though Damien shaped as if on the way back at Doncaster recently.

There was a lot to like about the debut performance of PHILOSOPHERS STONE when second at Southwell last month and providing that experience brings him on, she can go one better this afternoon. Trade Secret is more exposed than the majority of his rivals here but he boasts a mark of 70 and should pick up a race of this nature before long. Hot Spark and Powerful Poe are others to consider closely.
Philosophers Stone is sure to be popular on the back of a promising debut and should go well, but it may be worth opposing him with Trade Secret, who had some decent form to his name at 2 yrs and should be able to nab the rail. Hot Spark is another to consider.

FREQUENCY sets a fair standard and could take plenty of beating if able to build on his recent reappearance third at Lingfield. He was a beaten 1/2 shot that day but lost little in defeat and should come on plenty for that first outing since October. Turning Circle has had plenty of chances in similar company but continues to knock on the door and he could improve a little for the switch to turf. Melundy and David Barron's newcomer Kielder are others to consider closely.
Frequency is likely to take plenty of beating unless any of the newcomers turn out to be above average. Ed Dunlop's 3-y-o was beaten at short odds over 7f last time but this trip should be more in his favour and he can make amends. Turning Circle looks best of the others to have run.
