Secret Tune is an obvious contender, he was third over hurdles at Newton Abbot last month and he should be on the premises. Rebel Hunter is an interesting contender on his chasing debut whilst Mam Ratagan is also worthy of consideration.

MONTY'S MOON ran well over fences here last time out and a reproduction of that effort could see him go close back over hurdles here. He's yet to score in six starts over the larger obstacles but is heading in the right direction and warrants respect. Scotsbrook Cloud needs to find a touch more but he might appreciate the step up to this trip, while Pearly Star has scored in similar company at the start of the year and warrants respect this afternoon.

A 5lb rise for a length success at Southwell in July doesn't rule out Alph and similar comments apply to Topenhall, who scored with over two lengths to spare at Market Rasen recently. Gaspara returned to form when passing the post in front at Newton Abbot when last seen in April and, despite being disqualified and placed last after the race, she must be considered. Slight preference in an open heat, however, is for REBEL DANCER who made a winning debut for Ian Williams at Huntingdon on Monday and still looks well treated under a 7lb penalty if reproducing that sort of form today.

BUSHWACKER still had every chance when falling at the last over an extended 2m at Newcastle last month, the Towcester maiden winner appears to be improving still and receives slight preference here ahead of Inmate. The Robin Dickin-trained gelding ran out a very easy winner over 2m4f here on his latest outing and is sure to be in the shake-up again, but the drop in trip is not ideal and a 16lb rise in the ratings makes life much tougher. Nawow, who went close over 2m at Hereford last month, completes the shortlist.

Whereveryougoigo got off the mark at the third attempt in pleasing fashion over 2m 1f at Hereford on Wednesday, staying on well to record a two-length verdict. He sets the standard on that form but looked crying out for further and may be worth opposing as he drops in trip slightly, possibly with MUSIC IN THE AIR. Robin Dickin's charge made a promising debut when making the frame at 66/1 over 2m at Southwell in June and that experience should have done him the world of good. Littledean Jimmy rates best of the remainder.
