The handicapper hasn't gone overboard with WHISKY BRAVO, who clearly likes this surface and was good value for his length-and-three-quarters C&D defeat of Adranian earlier this month, his second successive victory. He remains open to further progression and looks to have been found another good spot. Sunny Side Up remains potentially well treated, having opened her account off a 3lb lower mark at Wolverhampton, although she is unproven on Fibresand.
Whisky Bravo is thriving at the moment and can make it 4 from 4 around here. Last-time-out winners M J Woodward and Sunny Side Up head the challengers.

REGAL LADY failed to beat a rival home on her only other foray into selling grade but that was too bad to be true and she has since performed much better in maiden and handicap company. Deduction has her sights lowered but has something to prove on an artificial surface, and Lord Buffhead hasn't convinced with his ability to handle the all-weather either. Lady Nickandy was a satisfactory fourth in a nursery here last time so could give Regal Lady most to think about.
Regal Lady's style of racing suggests she could take well to this surface, and, if she does, she'll be very hard to beat on these terms.

Le Toreador could never land a true blow when favourite for a Kempton handicap and will appreciate the drop into a claimer, but the weight he concedes to DESERT ICON sways the vote in favour of Alan McCabe's sprinter. The five-year-old invariably misses the break, but with Grudge and last year's runner-up Soopacal preferring to force the issue, the race could be set up for a finisher such as him.
Le Toreador will probably find it difficult giving so much weight away so this could boil down to Soopacal and Desert Icon, with the former marginally preferred on his first start for Brian Ellison.

It may have only been a claimer that BIVOUAC won here earlier in the month, but he gave 4lb and a near-two-length beating to a 72-rated rival, with the fact it was his first outing in a year making the performance all the more meritorious. CP Joe also arrives on the back of a victory, having bettered his narrow Wolverhampton defeat when dropped to a mile a half at this venue. Ostenation made an encouraging return to action over C&D and warrants respect as well.
Bivouac strictly wasn't at his best when winning a claimer last time, recording a Timeform rating some 10 lb shy of what he is capable of when at his peak, but the way he travelled suggested all his ability remains and he returns to handicaps off a lower mark than when last seen in this sphere, so he must go well. C P Joe looks sure to to give his running and can chase him home.

After hitting the crossbar the last twice, Hilbre Court deserves a change of fortune, although the assessor hasn't been kind in raising him 3lb for his latest second. Stamp Duty also filled the runner-up berth at Wolverhampton, signalling a welcome return to form. ARKAIM lost little in defeat when attempting to supplement a win back at Dunstall Park and he has fewer miles on the clock than his opponents so is taken to find the extra improvement required to strike.
Exopuntia isn't the most reliable but she was much better than the bare result last time and is worth risking in this weaker handicap. Arkaim is interesting on this surface given his style of racing and should go well from the front whilst Hilbre Court can finish placed again having found his form.

An upturn in Only Ten Per Cent's fortunes coincided with him making his handicap debut over 7f here and he may need to return to that company before he goes in. Lovat Lane has also plied her trade at that level and has experience to draw upon, but the raced brigade set a moderate standard so a chance is taken on CORAL SANDS. Alan Swinbank's newcomer is a half-brother to former smart hurdler Ouninpohja, and sire Footstepsinthesand injects the necessary speed into his pedigree.
Coral Sands won't need to be anything out of the ordinary to win this weak maiden but he's bred to need a lot further than this and the safest play looks Only Ten Per Cent. The bare form of his reappearance effort here was nothing special, but it was still an improved effort with the promise of more to come, and the remainder do look very limited.

MINORTRANSGRESSION is going from strength to strength and a 6lb rise for his latest course success isn't harsh given the ease of that success, and the four-timer beckons. On The Cusp had to drop to claiming company to regain the winning thread but is still a threat at this level.
