In front when falling at Fontwell before going down by a neck at Wincanton last time, compensation could await SCORSESE. The unexposed chaser is assisted by Harry Atkins and his 7lb claim and this looks winnable. Raffles Wonder struggled on his return but could do better now, as might the class-dropping Sayva, while market support for stable debutant Jermyn Raffles, a dual chase winner in France, would be noteworthy.
Tom Creen won this last year, but comes here out of form after a bad reappearance run. On this occasion it may fall to SCORSESE who produced a best ever effort when narrowly denied having made the running last time. Compensation probably awaits. The biggest danger may be Ailt An Chorrain who was much better over hurdles than he showed on his chase debut. Sayva similarly was much better over the smaller hurdles than his two runs in chases and would be a threat if transferring that form.

Dalston Lad has been too keen on both of his hurdling starts so far and connections will hope that first-time cheekpieces sharpen him up. Dan Skelton's charge might be too strong for recent Bangor winner Atlantic Lad, who has more to do under a penalty, but a chance can be taken on DALY BOY. The 60,000-pound purchase shaped with promise on his sole racecourse appearance at Ayr and progress is anticipated now sent over timber.
This looks like a two-horse affair on form concerning Dalston Lad and ATLANTIC LAD, but there is a worry they will ruin each other's chance by taking each other on up front. Dalston Lad is probably the more talented of the pair but hasn't built on his good bumper form because he has been too free over hurdles and with another front-runner alongside him it seems likely that will get worse here despite cheekpieces. It may then be better to side with Atlantic Lad. Cold Henry ran ok on debut on testing ground and could improve here and be third best. Daly Boy is unexposed, showed promise on debut but is off a long layoff. He could surprise.

This can go to COUNTRY PARK, who returned to finish a close-up third at Market Rasen in October. The gelded son of Walk In The Park hasn't been seen since, but he reappears with his yard amongst the winners and is the one to beat on official ratings. Bohemond Antioch and Gintime both have fewer miles on the clock over hurdles and are capable should the selection misfire.
Three of these have claims, COUNTRY PARK probably the best of them boasting the best back form. He may have just needed it when a beaten favourite on his reappearance and is open to improvement on that though another short-break is not a confidence-giver. Bohemond Antioch looks the obvious danger having improved last time. He'll likely need more to win this. Third best is Gintime who has decent bumper from and should come on from his hurdles debut last time.

DIXIE COWBOY was conceding 6lb to Huit Reflets when he had him two lengths back in third when scoring over this C&D last month. With Tom Midgley's 3lb claim off-setting the majority of a 5lb higher mark, the Sam England-trained gelding can repeat the feat. The selection was anchored by heavy ground when attempting to follow up at Hexham 16 days ago but his second-placed finish confirmed he remains in good nick. Zara's Universe and Take Centre Stage are the pick of the rest.
HUIT REFLETS could be the answer in this just ahead of Dixie Cowboy. The selection's chase form has been a fraction behind that he showed over hurdles so far, but he ran very creditably last time at a trip that stretches his stamina and down to 2m could improve a bit and that would likely be enough. Dixie Cowboy won here in November and is progressing over fences and is an obvious and substantial danger. Jaitroplaclasse could out-run his price. He stopped quickly after a mistake last time but was in the process of going close when coming down at Newton Abbot on his previous start. A clear round would make him a contender.

Summergrounds has been knocking on the door and, with Ella McGarry able to claim 10lb in the saddle, there are good reasons to expect another bold showing. However, it's hard to ignore that DEVON SKIES has won two of her last three starts at this venue, including a C&D success last month. With further improvement possible, she can make the most of getting weight all round here. Blue Fin is another strong contender.
DEVON SKIES is on an steep upward trajectory and seems the most likely winner of this handicap. Summergrounds is a danger having also been progressive prior to his break but may just need the run. Blue Fin is on a nice mark on some of his older form and was taken on up front when a bit below that last time. He may run better than his price suggests.

LIVANO BELLO bumped into a progressive rival when filling second place over 2m5f at this venue three weeks ago and it would be no surprise to see him go one better on this occasion, despite a 2lb rise. Miss Friday Lions showed more at Newcastle last time and has to be noted on her handicap bow, while Top Flight Century is the pick of the remainder.
LIVANO BELLO appeals most in this. He travelled really well before not finding as much as looked likely over a bit further last time. Down a little in trip on similar ground there is every reason to believe he weill improve. Top Flight Century has been in consistently decent form and looks the most significant danger. DRAKARIS was well held when filling second place on her racecourse debut over C&D a month ago, but Dan Skelton's filly looks sure to improve for that experience. With that in mind, she gets the vote over Eskylady, who was bought for 260,000 pounds after winning an Irish point in October. Red Wine Supernova must be given plenty of respect too.
It is going to be necessary to monitor the market to get a handle on these. The bottom three have all shown enough in points to be worthy of respect and any of them could have shown something at home to make them the subject of a gamble. Based on rules' form DRAKARIS is the obvious one. Pipe's Red Wine Supernova is a guessy second choice and mares' maiden point winner Eskylady third.
