Neptune Equester should come on for his introductory experience but it's hard to oppose EYRE SQUARE. He is still seeking a first success but has come up against some classy rivals in his short career thus far and chased home the useful Gansey on his chasing debut at Ayr last month.
Gringo and What A Buzz should both be up to making their presence felt at this level over fences, but Eyre Square already has an outing under his belt over the larger obstacles and can put that experience to good use.

Dual bumper scorer DOUBLE EXPRESSO made a bright start for new connections (changed hands for 87,000 pounds) when third on his hurdling debut over this trip at Doncaster in January and he looks sure to go close here with the initial experience behind him. Benny Be Good relished the step up to this distance when scoring at Sedgefield last month and should continue to improve with experience, while Black Apache may prove the pick of the Donald McCain duo.
Double Expresso paid the price for several mistakes when coming unstuck on his hurdling bow at Doncaster in January, but he will have learnt plenty from that experience and can prove too strong for last-time-out winner Benny Be Good and Pyracantha.

Of Course recorded a deserved success at Carlisle when last seen in November but he still didn't look the most straightforward and might be one to oppose without the cheekpieces on this time. Go On Be A Lady and Oniz Tiptoes can take a hand but CLUB CLASS gets the nod. He has shown promise in bumpers and novice hurdles and could prove well-treated here off an initial mark of 108.
Both Only The Best and Club Class have things going for them entering handicaps, but it may be worth chancing the stamina of Of Course up in trip.

LERIDA produced his best effort for some time when runner-up behind a useful sort (who has run well again since) over C&D just short of six weeks ago and will be fancied to go one better off a 3lb higher mark today. Troodos Jet has crept into the frame on his last three starts and should be thereabouts once again, while Prince Tam is another worthy of consideration in first time cheekpieces.
Prince Tam's third at Newcastle suggested that he is at least going the right way over fences and he could be the answer in this weak affair. Lerida and Troodos Jet are others to consider.

Cosmetic merits utmost respect on her handicap debut off a mark of just 79. Both of PUGNACITY's career victories have come at this venue and she has a handy weight today. With everything in her favour she should be capable of mounting a bold bid. Overbranch has been fitted with blinkers for the first time and can't be overlooked.
Poor fare, with the majority of the runners going backwards at present. Danse Macabre did travel well before his stamina gave out last time (dropped further 5 lb since) and has more going for him than most. Lindseyfield Lodge and Pugnacity are possible dangers, though the former is none too reliable and the latter seems ideally suited by faster ground.

Ferdy Murphy does particularly well with his runners at this time of year and appears to have a big chance here with PISTOL BASC. He finished with a late rattle to land his first victory in the UK at Wetherby last time and, despite a 3lb rise in the handicap, he can follow up. Kinkeel won in much easier fashion at Southwell latest and should put up a good fight, while Rexmehead is another to consider in the first time headgear.
This won't take much winning and, though Pistol Basc is not the most fluent jumper, he still gets the vote to follow up his victory at Wetherby in November. Kinkeel and Seven Is Lucky look the most likely pair to chase him home.
