Nicky Henderson appears to hold a strong hand here with Cucumber Run, Owen Glendower and Skint and the pick of that trio could be the first-named who won nicely over 2m4f at Hereford last time. However, Paul Nicholls also has major claims with The Reformer and SAN REMO BELLO. Jockey bookings suggest that the former is the stable first string but a solid case can be made for the latter who finished runner-up to Brunswick Gold at Fakenham last month. He is 8lb better off with Steve Gollings' representative today and this track will surely suit him much better. Dynaste could be a player despite top-weight with the progressive Mic's Delight also of interest.
This is nearly always one of the most competitive handicaps of the entire season, and looks so again. There was a lot to like about the way Mic's Delight and Global Power pulled clear of the rest at Leicester last month and they look open to still more improvement, but The Reformer appears as well treated as any and could get the job done.

Mon Parrain showed a good level of form in France and he is very interesting on his first run for Paul Nicholls but the handicapper has taken no chances in allocating him a mark of 133. APPLEADAY seems to like it here and he is now 7lb lower than when finishing runner-up in this race last year. He shaped as though a return to top form was imminent at Newbury last week and he can run a big race today. Sarde disappointed at Haydock last time but he was progressive prior to that and he should not be overlooked.
Sarde was one of the most progressive middling handicappers around before Christmas, has time on his side and should be all the better for his recent reappearance. In-form Rear Gunner and French-import Mon Parrain look best of the rest.

Kangaroo Court comes into this fresh and he could go well if at the top of his game on his reappearance, while Via Galilei got the better of Pateese at Newbury last week and that pair are closely matched here with the Hobbs representative reopposing on 3lb better terms. TITO BUSTILLO was a shade disappointing when favourite at Taunton last time but he could strip much fitter today and he has as good a chance as any in a typically competitive renewal. The Betchworth Kid also has claims while Song Of Songs could surprise.
The Pipe stable has a long tradition in this valuable handicap, and Arrayan fits the mould as an unexposed sort with Cheltenham engagements. He is taken to give the yard its sixth win in 10 years, though Via Galilei, The Betchworth Kid and Alarazi aren't passed over lightly.

A case can be made for plenty of these and it is hard to be overly confident about anything in a race this competitive, but MINTIVERDI appears to hold pretty solid claims. He got the better of Captain Kirkton (won twice over hurdles since and now rated 133), with another subsequent dual winner behind, at Kempton in December and there could be more to come. Kentford Grey Lady impressed when making a successful debut at Taunton last month and she can go well, along with Swincombe Flame who won with plenty in hand at Warwick first time out. Toubeera, Tante Sissi and Zhakiera Spirit also have possibilities with Baby Shine and Heather Royal other likely contenders.
An excellent running of what is always a competitive bumper, but Zhakiera Spirit stands out, having looked a top-class prospect when winning at Newcastle. She appears to have most to fear from the unbeaten pair Swincombe Flame and Baby Shine.

STARLUCK comes here instead of heading to the Cheltenham Festival next week and, although his main target for the season is likely to be Aintree, he can take this en-route. An impressive chasing debut success at Huntingdon last month highlighted his potential as a chaser. Harry Tricker is unbeaten over fences and he could be the one to ask the most questions of Alan Fleming's representative. Mamlook disappointed at Exeter last month but he is very useful indeed when at his best and it would be foolish to overlook him completely.
All eyes will be on the very smart Starluck, who passed the test with flying colours on last month's chase debut, and has plenty more to offer over the larger obstacles. Mamlook should ensure he doesn't have it all his own way.

Peplum is on a hat-trick following wins at Newbury and Ludlow but he has gone up a total of 15lb for those two wins and that makes life tougher. INSIDE DEALER was not at his best at Exeter last month but he was possibly bogged down by the very gluey ground on that occasion and he is fancied to bounce back on a better surface today. Checkerboard won first time out last season and he could figure if fully tuned up for his reappearance, while Holmwood Legend could also be in the shake-up.
Peplum makes some appeal going for the hat-trick but the progressive Insider Dealer would have come here a warm order straight from his Taunton second and ran better than the result last time. Craiglands might be the one to split them.
