Plenty can be given chances here but preference is for GALICISTA, second in a similar contest over 7f here. She's got some decent form in better contests and her recent close third in a $30k maiden special weight at Laurel earns her the vote tonight. The Kathleen Demasi pair, Honor's Return and Canwestillbfriends, can be given chances but Langfann, a close second in this grade over C&D last time, looks the biggest danger.
Malibu Mystery seems sure to prove popular eased in class but he has a fair bit to prove now and PINCH HITTER looks the more solid option. Second over 7f here last time, he was a winner over this track and trip back in October and ticks plenty of boxes. The lightly raced Don Diablo rates pick of the remainder.
It would come as no surprise to see Stollen improve from her modest Laurel debut effort but DON'T PANIC sets a solid enough standard following three recent runner-up efforts and she deserves a change of luck tonight. Sweet As A Kiss lost a race in the Stewards' room here last month and is worth considering for any combination bets.
THE MAD ARTIST just failed to hold on over an extended 1m here last time and, likely to benefit from dropping back in trip, he can regain the winning thread. Race Caller Luke was the best part of 3-lengths behind the selection that day and needs to improve to reverse placings so Ramon Moya's Out Drinkin's is most feared.
OLYMPIC PEGASUS stayed on strongly to score over 5 1/2f here last time and, with this longer trip not a concern, he will be fancied to go in again. Flight To Eden has been running consistently well of late and should give another good account, while Like An Eagle is certainly no forlorn hope.
After her facile maiden win, OH SO BELLA found only one too good in this grade over slightly shorter here latest and she can go one better here with further progress expected. Darn That Raven couldn't have been more impressive in landing her maiden and looks the biggest threat on only her third start. Kela's Pride completes the shortlist.
Stormy Prince and Salty Cheeks have been knocking on the door and looks sure to go well again but slight preference is for WHISKEY LIT. Second on his last two starts, he appears to have slightly less on his plate tonight and doesn't have much to find to go one better.
GRUNWALD is running to a high level of consistency judging by the speed figures he has been posting and gets the vote while seemingly at one with himself. Starship Scott usually gives his running and shouldn't be too far away while Golddigger's Boy, ahead of the last-named over a route here last time, must also enter calculations.
SUMMITING has rattled the crossbar the last twice with nose defeats over 5.5f here but is taken to go one better now dropped back in trip. Vigors Storm looks the one that can give the selection most to think about although a case can also be made for Justiceanfortitude, who completes the shortlist.
