Justin M has twice filled the runner-up berth in this grade over route trips here, finishing in front of the likes of Awesome Rubiano, Wood Dale and Brady Meister. He should confirm his superiority tonight but might find one too good in the shape of CROSSWICKS, who gained a game success in a slightly tougher contest over a mile here latest and has run well in even better company.
Not much to go on here but EASY ARGUMENT'S two placed efforts have come in this grade and over this C&D. He still has something to find but should be open to further improvement and is worth sticking with. The newcomers Gordonryan and Ryegrass Road have been impressing in their workouts and could fight out the minor placings.
Hard to rule any of these out but slight preference is for SERENITY GIRL, who boasts an excellent strike-rate, won a claimer over this trip at Charles Town two starts ago and was a close third in a much better contest over 5f here last time. Yielding Gold landed a $5k claimer over 6f here two starts ago and looks the danger but cases could also be made for Mad Pursuit, Yankee Cruz and Angel In Heaven.
This should go the way of HUNDRED ADAMS, whose recent form in better company, earns him the vote ahead of Sounds Appealing, who finished a couple of places in front of the selection when they met in this grade last month. However, Flint Stites' gelding is well exposed and may not have any more to give. Key To The City, a close second in this grade latest, can't be ruled out.
Gutterball Mary was a close second in this grade three starts ago but needs to improve on a distant second over C&D is a lesser contest last time. Hey Sugar Sugar landed a $12.5k maiden claimer at Sunland Park last time, while Luna Island is knocking on the door in this grade. They have obvious claims but are passed over in favour of VIANNEY LANE, a comprehensive winner of a $7.5k maiden claimer over C&D on her debut last month. This doesn't look much tougher and she should be open to plenty of improvement.
WARSHAW didn't look out of place in third when raised in grade at Philadelphia last time and appears the one to be on in what looks a weaker event. Almooriq has the ability to make an impact here but is probably best watched now, as he steps up from 6f. Henry Jay C.P.A. continues to acquit himself well and shouldn't be too far away, while Boxer Shorts is also considered.
AFTER THE APPLAUSE won nicely over C&D last month and is taken to follow up while her well-being is assured. Ms Mia usually gives her running and has claims of landing yet more minor money. Tale of the Fox is another to consider, although she did weaken in disappointing fashion over this trip at Laurel last time and may also be booked for a supporting role at best.
LOVE ON A WIRE has a little bit of work to do with West Lido on their C&D running in December but should strip fitter for his last two outings and is taken to reverse the form. The last-named is rarely far away and appears the one for the forecast, although a case can also be made for Spikeavellian, who wasn't far off the selection in fourth when last sighted.
JOHN HONEYMAN hasn't been fazed by the step up to a mile recently and looks the one to be on, with further improvement at the trip expected. J D Jungle Jim hasn't yet convinced his stamina stretches this far and is best watched at present. Sweep To Glory and Principatus appear to hold stronger claims but both have work to do with the selection on recent pieces of form.
