Gregarious was an impressive winner here last time and the runner-up was deemed good enough to contest the Adonis after that, finishing sixth. A mark of 113 may seriously underestimate Lucy Wadham's charge, but this could be ZALVADOS' time to open his account. Second to Don Bersy in a decent juvenile contest at Haydock last time, the handicapper may have taken a real chance giving him a mark of 120. Hygrove Percy is just 4lb higher than when successful in handicap company at Fontwell and may be a factor if fully wound up for this first run since September.
ZALVADOS has improved with every start over hurdles so far, and looks leniently treated now handicapping, so can deservedly open his account. Hygrove Percy has already won 3 times this season but could have more to offer, while Deauville Crystal is another handicap debutante to consider.

A well up to scratch renewal of a contest that has thrown up some smart winners over the years, including four-times Grade 1 winner Albertas Run. His former trainer Jonjo O'Neill is represented by Lithic, a recent winner in impressive fashion at Huntingdon, who has to come into the reckoning despite that performance coming over 2m. Full Irish arrives here on the back of a stylish win at Leicester having improved with each start to date along with Gaitway, a horse with a tall reputation, who got off the mark at Musselburgh on his most recent outing. The Paul Nicholls pair attempt of Cash Again and Touch Kick both have more to offer but preference goes to MAN FROM MARS. Nick Williams won this race back in 2008 with a similar type of horse in Beshabar and this giant gelding looks on a very fair handicap mark of 123 having progressed nicely with each start, his second to Burbank at Huntingdon last time a particularly promising run. Others worthy of consideration are Minella Awards and Ramses De Teillee.
A red-hot handicap that can go to MINELLA AWARDS, who ran a blinder in a Plumpton contest on his return that has worked out really well. He likely has a lot more to offer now handicapping. It has been 40 years since trainer Nicky Henderson rode Acquaint to victory in this corresponding race for his old boss Fred Winter and he bids for his second win in the race as a trainer with FIXE LE KAP. The grey son of Kapgarde looked a promising individual last winter when winning two juvenile hurdles at Newbury and Warwick but things haven't gone his way since. He ran respectably in the Fred Winter on ground probably quick enough for him and he should be fit enough for his return to action. Kayf Blanco and William H Bonney both contested the Betfair Hurdle last time and should be a lot closer in a weaker race but the main threat could well be Not Another Muddle, who has a very progressive profile and represents a yard with a great record at the track.
Hard to call this a vintage Imperial, but FIXE LE KAP has the potential to be a fair bit better than his current mark and is highly unlikely to lack for fitness on return from a year off given his connections. Chieftain's Choice and William H Bonney can boast solid recent winning handicap form, while Max Do Brazil needs monitoring closely in the betting.

Twenty Eight Guns arrives on a hat-trick and looks the obvious starting point, though she's been raised 10lb for her 2m4f victory at Wincanton last time and may be worth taking on with MORNING REGGIE, a C&D winner who has dropped 4lb below his last winning mark and is entitled to improve for the fitting of first-time blinkers. Dance Floor King continues to acquit himself well and is unlikely to be far away at the finish either.
GORES ISLAND was cruelly denied a much-deserved victory at Kempton 2 weeks ago when crashing out at the final fence. A sound jumper in the main, Gary Moore's charge may well gain compensation off the same mark here. The progressive Twenty Eight Guns rates the main danger, albeit cases can also be made for Alcala, Dance Floor King and last year's winner Morning Reggie.
