He has Richard Johnson on board for just the second time and could prove too quick for Ar Mest, who might want further than this already but did win with plenty in hand at Lingfield last time out. Black Buble and Top Decision both have a bit to find.
Hard to split BRAINSTORM and Ar Mest on bumper form and what they have achieved over hurdles so far. However, Brainstorm's Taunton win appeals as more solid form than Ar Mest's Lingfield success, so he earns the vote.

Nicky Henderson and Major Domenico D'Alo teamed up to win this contest last year and NO HIDING PLACE looks to hold outstanding claims for the same combination. The five-year-old returned to form when second at Kempton last month and should prove capable of building on that on just his second handicap start. Sally Randell has ridden the winner of this contest twice in recent years and should go well on 14-year-old Ratify, while Briac and Scrafton are others to note.
SKINFLINT very much caught the eye under a considerate ride at Newbury last month, and he appeals as the sort to do better again now switching to handicaps. No Hiding Place is in good hands and can do better still, while C&D winner Briac should remain competitive.

Captain Guy Disney has a tremendous record in these contests and himself and his willing partner RATHLIN ROSE will attempt to defend the prize they won last season. They warmed up for this by landing a similar contest over course and distance last month and they appear to hold leading claims once again. Fergal O'Brien has taken this twice in the last four years and his Winter Lion seems sure to run well, while Midnight Monty and Baden have both been hitting the frame of late and are capable of making their presence felt.
RATHLIN ROSE excels around here, winning this in good style last season and beating a few of these over C&D 3 weeks ago, and is sure to make another bold bid. Knockanrawley is used to keeping better company than this and rates a big threat, while Winter Lion is an interesting contender on his first run for Fergal O'Brien.

David Pipe's horses are beginning to hit a bit of form and Three Star General could be capable of building his second in a competitive contest at Ascot. Sergeant Brody has shown signs of ability and is considered, while Jet Set has knocked on the door the last twice and wasn't beaten far in a hot bumper earlier this term. However, a wind operation could have done the trick for LIP SERVICE, who hasn't been seen since running with credit in a trappy Cheltenham handicap and Fergal O'Brien has had plenty of time now to get to the bottom of the Malcolm Denmark-owned nine-year-old.
SERGEANT BRODY's opening handicap mark looks workable and he might be worth siding with as there's likely more to come given his lightly-raced profile. Three Star General will be a danger if reproducing the form he showed when runner-up at Ascot last time. Lip Service and Jet Set are a couple of others for the shortlist in a competitive finale.
