BLACK MONK made a pleasing debut when runner-up at Nottingham last month and he is sure to improve with that experience under his belt so he is fancied to go one better here. Regal Dan has shaped with promise on both of his outings to date and he features on the list of dangers, along with Jubilee Brig, who shaped nicely on his debut at Kempton. Pearl Bounty is worth a precautionary market check on debut.
Though turned over at odds on when making his debut at Nottingham, Black Monk lost little caste in defeat and, with that experience to draw upon, he is taken to open his account here. Jubilee Brig is feared most, ahead of Regal Dan.

Choice Words is an interesting contender on his first foray into handicap company but the one to beat here could be CHEERS. She found only Valmina too good at Bath last time and looks sure to mount another bold bid running off the same mark this evening. Lady Mango has been in good heart on the all-weather and she is worthy of consideration, whilst Sarangoo could take a hand if bouncing back to form.
Dream Catcher could be the answer to an open-looking handicap, starting out for Henry Candy off a mark 11 lb below that off which he scored at Thirsk last spring. Sarangoo and Annes Rocket are feared most.

SWAN SONG shaped with great promise when runner-up in a warm Newbury maiden on her only run as a juvenile, should have plenty more to offer and can get off the mark tonight. Supreme Quest should be capable of breaking her duck before too long and she rates an obvious danger to the selection. Norlander showed plenty of ability on her debut and with improvement likely, she also commands respect.
Roger Charlton is firing in winners left, right and centre at present, and his representative here, Supreme Quest, looks sure to be firmly in the mix. However, Swan Song is preferred, having shaped so well on her sole start as a 2-y-o, and with the drop to 6f likely to be in her favour. Norlander can see off Cynthia Calhoun in the race for minor honours.

MISS TOPSY TURVY looked a tricky customer at times last year but when she did put her best foot forward she looked very capable and could yet prove better than her current mark of 76. Kangaroo Court never managed to land a blow on his handicap debut at Lingfield but this stiffer test will suit him better and he should not be overlooked. Praxiteles is back on his last winning mark and he looks a likely contender also.
Sunny Future will be better for a pipe-opener at Newbury on Friday, and looks to figure on a lenient mark. He's preferred to course-specialist Hawridge King and Four Nations, whose yard are showing signs of a revival.

ZAMARELLE was bitterly disappointing on her handicap debut at Kempton earlier this month but she still has time on her side and she might be worth another chance. Burnham finished an excellent second on his reappearance at Windsor last week and he looks sure to run another big race tonight. Recent Beverley runner-up Cheviot Quest is also considered and Morilles should not be left out of calculations on her handicap bow.
Burnham was just held on his handicap bow at Windsor last week despite looking as if the run would bring him on, and he's a strong fancy to get off the mark now. Fleur de La Vie and Cheviot Quest have proven their stamina for this trip, and are viable alternatives.

NICHOLASCOPERNICUS has finished runner-up on both of his outings in handicaps and although he is 1lb 'wrong' with a few of his rivals here, he should still be capable of another big run. Travelling was not disgraced on her first run for her new yard at Wolverhampton and she is accorded the utmost respect. Porcini posted an improved effort at Beverley last time and with further improvement likely she has place prospects once more.
Porcini is one to follow having done well against a clear pace bias at Beverley, and can break her duck at the expense of the luckless Nicholascopernicus. There may be more to come from Travelling, and she's another to consider.
