All five fillies are making their racecourse debuts and the market should prove most useful in assessing the confidence behind their respective chances. Richard Hannon saddles two with SKY LANTERN, a half-sister to nine scorers including winning sprint juvenile Arctic, preferred ahead of Indignant, who is a half-sister to a 1m winner in France. Glen Ginnie looks the pick of the remainder as she is a full-sister to a 5f winner and a half-sister to Grade 3 scorer Killybegs.
Just a small field, but some really well-bred fillies. It could be telling that Richard Hughes rides Sky Lantern over that one's stablemate Indignant, and she can provide the Hannon/Hughes partnership with their fifth successive win in this race.

Attenborough failed to justify favouritism with a lifeless display at Doncaster on his reappearance but it is possible he could strip fitter for the run. Nevertheless, in a race packed full of untapped potential, there is likely better value at the forecast prices and CALIFORNIA ENGLISH shades the vote, now stepped up in trip on the back of a creditable 1m third at Kempton. Roger Charlton has his string in good order at present so it is quite possible his Silver Lime will be fired up to go on his seasonal reappearance, while there could be better to come from Godolphin's Mr Churchill, third over C&D last time and now sent handicapping.
A tricky-looking 3-y-o handicap with plenty of unexposed sorts in opposition, including Eurystheus and Goodwood Atlantis. It's the former who gets the nod here, while Attenborough could prove best of the remainder.

An outstanding race in prospect in which PRIMAEVAL rates a confident choice. James Fanshawe's six-year-old is verging on Pattern class judging by some impressive performances on polytrack this winter and is allowed to race off a mark of just 92 on turf. A race of this nature looks well within his sights en route to competing in some of the prestigious 7f handicaps later in the season. Victoria Cup runner-up Bonnie Brae should give another good account, despite a 4lb rise, while a big run from the quirky Mr David cannot be ruled out now he's dropped a little in the weights.
A competitive handicap that can go to Primaeval who is in the form of his life. Victoria Cup second Bonnie Brae and the returning Yair Hill are a couple of obvious dangers.

Coquet signed off her juvenile campaign by landing a 1m Listed race at Newmarket in October and is a potential improver this season now upped in trip. Marginal preference, however is for NAYARRA, who confirmed she had trained on when second in the Nell Gwyn. The selection didn't get the race run to suit in the 1000 Guineas when last sighted but the Classic form was boosted when The Fugue and Laugh Out Loud scored at York last week and further winners are expected to emerge from the race. Estrela failed to see out her race in the Oaks Trial at Lingfield and is another to consider now dropped in trip.
None of the 7 can be ruled out with total confidence but preference is for Minidress, who is likely to appreciate this extra distance the most. Coquet could emerge as the chief threat despite her penalty.

AL KHAWANEEJ is well on terms with himself at present and backed up his 1m4f victory at Kempton by scoring over 1m6f at Wolverhampton. A further 6lb rise demands improvement from David Simcock's representative but he's unexposed over staying distances and is taken to complete a hat-trick. Rasheed is another switched back to turf and is respected after some fair staying efforts on Polytrack over the winter, while Golan Way looks well treated on the level based on his chase form last year and is another to consider.
John Gosden's Rasheed has progressed well on the all-weather since scoring at Kempton in December and is taken to transfer that improvement back to turf from what is a lenient mark. Smart jumper Golan Way has to be respected also from a mark of just 70.

BLAZING FIELD should have blown away the cobwebs with a recent spin at Newbury and, open to more improvement over 2m, is taken to defy a 4lb rise to land the spoils. The main danger appears to be Gilded Age, who wasn't beaten far at Bath last time and has no concerns on the stamina front having scored over this trip on his penultimate start at Newbury. Mohanad looks feasibly treated on the level given he scored off 120 over hurdles in October and is another of note.
Blazing Field shaped well behind Gilded Age on her return at Newbury and could have more to offer, but Astromagick looks just the type who will go on improving for Mark Tompkins and can make a successful reappearance.

DRAKES DRUM ran his best race to date when fifth over 7f at Lingfield last time and, unexposed over sprint distances, is a potential improver now dropped in trip. Da Ponte boasts winning C&D form and is expected to improve upon some wayward efforts over further now reverting to sprinting. Others to consider in a trappy-looking finale are the dependable Even Bolder, who isn't getting any younger but invariably gives his running, and Amazing Win, who could improve for the return to better ground.
Da Ponte hasn't been at his best since his latest win but has come down to a handy mark and the hope is first-time cheekpieces will spark a revival. Drakes Drum and Indian Shuffle are others who don't look badly treated and are worth risking for a place.
