PINNACLE LAD made an eye-catching debut in a Bath maiden last week and that race already appears to be working out quite well so he gets the verdict. Oondiri stepped up on his encouraging debut effort to finish third to Lady Lube Rye at Redcar last week and he could do better still, whilst market support for any of the newcomers would make them of interest, especially the well-bred Pepper Lane.

Dark Oasis finished second in a Hamilton seller on Sunday but he would probably not have to step up too much on that to play a leading role here. However, preference is for MUSASHI who disappointed in a Southwell maiden on his latest outing but had previously shown enough in handicaps to suggest he is capable of winning at this level. Demolition beat Aleatricis by 1/2 a length over 1m4f at Beverley last month but he has gone up 6lb for that win and the drop to this trip does not look ideal, so he is taken on with GRANSTON who can usually be relied upon to give his running and is only 1lb higher than when last tasting success over 1m2f at Doncaster in March last year. Market support for the ex-Italian Rangefinder on his first outing for Luca Cumani would enhance his appeal.

Reject shaped encouragingly on his debut at Pontefract last month and is likely to step up on that effort, but this looks like a good opportunity for ALPHA TAURI to get off the mark. He sets the standard on his second to Mull Of Killough at Warwick last month and a reproduction of that might even be good enough here. Midnight Fantasy could take a hand if cherry ripe for her return to action.
