MORNING POST finished midfield in the Super Sprint at Newbury last time and sets the form standard with that effort. The return to 6f is considered a positive for Kevin Ryan's charge and he's taken to strike at the fourth attempt now dropping back into maiden company. Smart Salute was touched off by just a head at Windsor latest and is considered the principal threat as he's expected to come on plenty for that outing. Thornaby Nash was sent off favourite when fifth at Carlisle latest and would be interesting if the money was down again.

Watch out for: Smart Salute (5)

Smart Salute made a nice impression on debut at Windsor earlier this month, and with natural progression likely, he gets the nod, hailing from an in-form yard. Morning Post is his chief threat, though any market support for the unraced pair of Roachdale House and Victory Danz would look significant.

SPES NOSTRA needs to bounce back from a disappointing Musselburgh run last time out but may have 'bounced' that day as it was only his second run back from a long absence. David Barron's representative is certainly handicapped to go well - only 3lb higher than when notching on the all-weather at Wolverhampton back in 2011. Gold Show was outpaced over 1m at Beverley last time and should appreciate this stiffer test, while recent Newcastle third Rock Supreme should remain competitive off 1lb higher and also has place claims.

Successful off 74 at Haydock two runs ago, he won by two lengths under a penalty at York last weekend and, racing off 1lb lower today, he makes standout appeal in his bid for a hat-trick. Aeronwyn Bryn was denied a 1m treble when touched off by half a length at Ayr last time but should remain competitive off the same mark under useful claimer Connor Beasley. Recent Haydock second Polar Chief has a 4lb rise to contend with but is lightly raced and should also be thereabouts.

This is only his fifth start for the David O'Meara team and there could be improvement in the pipeline. Queens Revenge has dropped to an exploitable mark and is worth a market check now equipped with first-time blinkers, while Logans Legend and Perfect Words are holding their form well at present and also merit inclusion on the shortlist.

Little Jimmy Odsox comes here on the back of a decent second at Wolverhampton but he arguably does his best racing on the polytrack so preference is for A J COOK. The selection won over 5f here two starts ago and his dam was a 6f winner so the extra furlong shouldn't pose a problem. Layla's Hero has gone a long while without winning but if he retains some of his ability, he is bound to win off this kind of mark. Ryedane ran a great race two starts ago and maybe found the going too fast last time.

Watch out for: Ryedane (1)

Layla's Hero has tumbled to a career-low mark and has shown signs of a resurgence. He ran well on his only previous visit to Redcar and can get back to winning ways. Emily Hall and Little Jimmy Odsox are considered in opposition, while Copper To Gold and Helterskelter Girl are both potentially interesting on their handicap debuts.
