Net D'ecosse endured a frustrating campaign over timber last season and needs to build on a disappointing fencing bow, when falling at the second at Thurles, if he's to figure. His owners, Gigginstown House Stud, are also represented by Chatham House Rule, who has won here over hurdles and also merits consideration on his chase debut.

Kilcrea was in contention for some minor money when tumbling two out at Thurles last time and could feasibly figure if staying on his feet this time. However, it is hoped that the fitting of first-time cheekpieces can spark some improvement from WINTER MAGIC, who kept on well in the finish when second over 2m4f at Tipperary two starts ago, hinting this sort of test may be ideal. Do Be Doin' and Chute Hall have claims on their best form and are others for the shortlist.

If fired up to go on his return from a subsequent break, Daniel Murphy's seven-year-old could make his presence felt. Mountain Philip struck over 2m7f at Tipperary in May and has places claims now dropped in trip, while Need To Know, five times a winner between the flags, is no forlorn hope either.

Willie Mullins' charge edges the vote ahead of recent Clonmel scorer Jetstream Jack, who proved his effectiveness over this trip with that victory. The pick of the remainder may be High Stratos, who landed a bumper here last year and could have been freshened up by a recent break.

A 396-day absence might make him susceptible to match-fit rivals like Double Island, who was far from disgraced when chasing home the smart Flat recruit Open Eagle. Inch Rise would have been closer if he hadn't made a mistake at the final flight at Cork and completes the shortlist.

Goulane Davina has raised her game the last twice and will be in the mix if ready to roll on her return from a break. Snaidhm has plenty of solid form to her name and should be on the premises, while any market support behind Water Sprite should be taken seriously.

Point winner GOULANE DAVINA sets a decent standard on the evidence of a couple of placed efforts over hurdles thus far, finishing a place in front of a next-time-out winner when runner-up at Listowel in June.
