A mouthwatering contest despite just four runners going to post. Flemenstar made it six from seven over fences when readily brushing aside Big Zeb in the Grade 2 Fortria Chase at Navan last time and Peter Casey's bold-jumping gelding looks certain to give a good account here, but preference is for SIR DES CHAMPS. Currently second-favourite for the Cheltenham Gold Cup and unbeaten in seven starts since joining Willie Mullins, the Gigginstown representative looks the type who will have improved for another summer on his back and his trainer is sure to have him fairly wound up for this seasonal debut. Rubi Light won't mind the forecast heavy ground and could beat recent hurdle winner Bog Warrior into third spot.

MIKAEL D'HAGUENET appears to have been found a great opportunity to claim a much needed confidence boosting win. The multiple Grade 1 winning hurdler had a similar beginners chase at his mercy over this C&D last month, before making a terrible blunder at the final fence and he should prove extremely difficult to beat today if cutting out such errors. The form of De Dodger's five-length success at Cork in April looks fairly solid, with the runner-up and third notching up three wins between them since, and he makes plenty of appeal now returning, but GLENQUEST gets the tentative vote. Terence O'Brien's charge appeared to benefit from the application of blinkers (worn again today) when posting a much improved effort in a competitive renewal of the Troytown at Navan last month, when finishing third, and he should go very close off a 3lb higher mark here. It could pay to side with SIZING TENNESSEE representing the trainer/jockey combination who won this contest 12 months ago.
