Happy In Paris is moving in the right direction and has shown clear ability in sprints, but she has yet to be tried over a route trip and the safest bet may be DIAMOND RIDGE. Michael Trobetta's filly filled the runner-up berth over C&D on only her second outing last month and there should be more to come.
BLAZING COUNT's connections can do little wrong at present and he will take all the beating if repeating his easy victory in a higher grade over 5.5 last month. The main threat appears to be Scott Lake's Tonic Night, who is much better than his latest run suggests, while Vancouver goes well here and can't be ruled out.
Forever Daylight and Jays Heiress are both expected to go well first time out and should be closely monitored in the betting. Having A Moan filled the runner-up berth over C&D last, but was less impressive latest and the preference is for P S IT'S AMERICAN. She relished the switch to turf over 1m at Delaware in September and has the ability to overcome an 8-month lay-off in this company.
Home Run Hitter was a very impressive winner over 7f at Charles Town latest, but this is tougher and the drop in trip isn't in her favour. Humor Me Molly and Princess Pelona have claims on their best form, but the vote goes to GLORY OF LOVE who caught the eye when making all over C&D last time out.
Topiary's near second in a higher grade over 1m on Belmont's turf last time out clearly sets the standard, but that was in September. She may need this run and the one to follow may be SIDNEYS ANGEL FACE, who landed a maiden on turf on only her second outing last month and there is sure to be more to come. In The Park also won last time out and is hard to dismiss.
ABBONDANZA was last seen in a Grade 1 event over C&D in November, he was far from disgraced that day and could be tough to beat today as he takes a big drop in class. Crafty Guy returns from a lengthy lay-off to land a similar event over C&D last month and should ask the selection a few questions, although Grade 3 winner Shake You Down is in good heart and looks the biggest threat.
PANJSHAIR relished the switch to turf when breaking through over C&D earlier this month, she put up the highest last speed-figure that day and the progressive filly can follow-up today. Little separated Mullingar and Dowry as they made the frame in a similar event here last month and they must be considered as contenders, while Larrupin Gal is on the upgrade.
MADALENA scooped a similar event to this at Gulstream with ease in February. She finished behind Hot Storm next time out but didn't get the 7f trip and was back to winning ways over this distance last month. This filly has bags of speed and can enhance her 80% strike-rate today, at the main expense of the rapidly improving Burnish who put up the highest last speed-figure when romping home at Keeneland. Flowerbud is another progressive sort and is no forlorn hope.
All eyes will be on last year's Breeder's Cup Distaff winner ASHADO here. She was clearly in need of the run last month on her first outing since that famous victory at Lone Star Park and the former Kentucky Oaks winner should have much more to offer now; she should be tough to beat. Saintless suffered her first defeat in six outings, but not by much, in a Grade 3 event latest but the progressive mare could push the selection closest.
