Tropic Tiger lowers his sights here and his best effort came over a route trip so should appreciate the step back up in trip, but the preference is for MY BAD CAT. Keith LeBarron's charge has been knocking on the door and recorded the highest last speed figure. Fedxtony looks the best of the remainder.
El Campo failed to justify short odds on his seasonal reappearance here last time out but he is entitled to benefit from those exertions and warrants inclusion on the short-list. There may, however, be some value in going with BRING OUT THE BEST who has been clocking some impressive speed figures since the turn of the year and managed to make the frame here last time.
MACON COUNTY has placed form at a much stronger level than this and looked in good nick when earning a silver medal here latest. He is fancied to get the better of Smart Alliance who steps down in grade having failed to justify short odds around here last time. Just Jad and Pick Three Tommy C are others to consider in an open heat.
Nothing really stands out in this claimer and HIGH VALUE TARGET is fancied to score on his first start since last summer. The Forestry gelding is used to stronger company than he faces here and can gain a seventh career success. Olivers Crossing, placed here latest, and Johnny Ola look most likely to exploit any weaknesses in the selection.
RESPECT has winning form in stronger races than this one and should take all the beating if none the worse for a short break. The stopwatch gives Y Two J and Conquistador Lad claims, while Magic Alphabet is a solid performer in this grade and cannot be dismissed.
TIBER TIME has not finished outside of the first three on his last six starts and is taken to gain a deserved success this afternoon. Course winner Exclusive Kiwi clocked the best last speed figure in today's field and rates a danger, while Royal Moro is no forlorn hope if back to his best.
Danees is down in grade having failed to land a blow last time and has an obvious chance on the form that saw her finish one place in front of Bold Clover on her penultimate start. Diana Of The Woods was behind that day but gained a confidence-boosting success last time from TRUELY ALONE but the filly from the Guerrero barn may be able to take her revenge.
Done That has to put a poor run behind him so is passed over whilst Fat Man Walkin may have to settle for a minor role. Blazing Glory wasn't at his best last time so a tentative vote goes to AUCTION WATCH who needed strong handling to gain a maiden success over track and trip earlier in the month.
It's hard to get away from the claims of JET AWAY JANE who has yet to finish outside the first two in seven starts this year and she should go close. The lightly-raced Cantrel is feared most following a decent second to a clear-cut winner here last time.
A market check is essential but it would be no surprise if this revolved around Rosamund and WORLD AWAY who both have a race of this nature within their scope. Preference is for the latter in the hope that he can build on his promising return to action. Highlands Rapid and Basha's Maid are others to consider.
