Verdict

Jim Goldie's REGENT'S SECRET produced a gallant effort in defeat when third over course and distance ten days ago and, with the cheekpieces being used again today, he gets the tentative vote to regain the winning thread. Verdict

FRANC VILLEZ appeared to have plenty left in the tank when scoring by 4 lengths over 3m here last time and, with this drop in trip not a concern, he gets the confident nod to follow up. Verdict

The Jimmy Lambe-trained CLASSIC MOON barely broke into a sweat when scoring by 29 lengths at Sedgefield last time and looks like the one that they all have to beat in his bid to complete a hat-trick. Gray Mountain won in gritty fashion on his hurdling debut over course and distance in May and is unlikely to go down without a fight, while the in-form Recovery Man is another with solid win claims.

Verdict

TOM'S TOYBOX was hugely impressive when landing the spoils by 14 lengths over this trip at Aintree last time out and, although a 13lb hike in the weights is sure to make life a lot tougher, he's hard to oppose in his bid to follow up. Barney is much better than his recent ninth at Uttoxeter suggests and cannot be written off just yet, while recent course and distance winner Brave Broncho is another interesting player.
