This represents a marked drop in class for BEE CHARMER who is remarkably still a maiden despite having posted a host of fine efforts in Graded company. He should prove hard to beat returning to this level and he can gain a confidence-boosting success at the expense of Not For Love's Boy and Two Terms.
CLASS REAL ROCK made a pleasing return to competitive action when second here last month and, although this looks a little tougher, he's expected to come on a bundle for that outing. Timely Tradition was far from disgraced in a similar event recently, while course runner-up Game Face On is also respected.
With the majority stepping up in class, this could be best left to DR. BLOOMER who landed a Grade 3 2m event in May when last seen. Swimming River contested a top-class contest at Keeneland in April and must be accorded respect, while Sound Blaster is another to consider on best form.
GRANT ME SUNSHINE makes most appeal having turned in two fine runner-up efforts in as many starts this term. This looks a shade easier and she is fancied to get off the mark at the expense of Go Awesome Serena and Mean Sally.
ROBIN DES TUNE only had to be pushed out to make it two on the bounce at Delaware Park last time and the 8-y-o could take a fair bit of beating once again. She is fancied to complete the hat-trick tonight with recent track winner Mystique Moon and Truckee Fad put forward as the main dangers.
TRUE HYPE was only beaten a length when third in a slightly tougher track and trip event last month and she could prove the one to beat here if in a similar frame of mind. Final Report is improving and can take another step forward, while Light Event also looks up to winning a race of this nature.
Melmont was all-out to win around here last time and he won't go down without a fight again, but preference is for SUPER COWBOY who was a comfortable scorer at Charles Town last time. This is tougher but he looks the one to beat.
READ THE LABEL has been performing really well in defeat of late and looks to have been found a fair opportunity in which to record that elusive fourth career success. Sophisticated Lady is in good shape and should give another good account, comments that also apply to Angel I B and Big Patti.
Night Passage has shown plenty of promise thus far and there should be a little race to be won with him, with similar sentiments applying to Volcanic Ice. However, PRINCE NOIR shaped like a winner in waiting when a runner-up here last time and he gets the call to open his account tonight.
